Right, now ive finished lifting heavy things, update tiem!

Safehouse: Theres shitloads of places to stay in the Verge, all of them simultaneously cheap and overpriced. Its all a bit shit. Wireless coverage is as good as non-existant (although Nik's satellite uplink can help you there) and nothing is higher than 3 floors. Pretty much none of it is multiple rooms either, though it wouldnt break the bank to just hire a couple of rooms together. Good thing about it being in the Verge though: no SIN needed, no questions asked, and as long as you dont blow it up/set it on fire, they dont much care what you do there.

Its also worth noting that, being a rather lawless area, no one will call the Star if you were to wander down the street in full combat gear. It might get you more geberal attention than you want though.

More to come after I have checked the oven!

You didn't leave it under the supervision of Mrs. Joose did you?

Now where was I?

Ah yes.

Roman: Theres plenty of dodgy bars (well, buildings where booze is sold. Bar is as good a description as any) for you to hang about in. If yo want to get employment, nearly any of them are likely to be happy for a physad to join their staff. Dont expect them to pay much more than some free booze for it though.

Doggers/Pete: Ive done availability rolls, all the stuff you were talking about is in stock at Franks mates place, ready to go.

Deject: Your astral flyby/ass-sense shows that the area is pretty average, magically speaking. You spot a couple of areas that may have some sort of Shamanic lodge, and some tribal looking spirits. As the area is Amerindian heavy, thats not too surprising. You dont spot squat in/around the safehouses though. Either their mages are goddamn impressive at hiding their auras, or there are no mages present.

Grimmie: You sending your drones in then?

Seeing as there's no wireless signal around here, a dragonfly buzzing around might be a little too noticeable.
I was planning on someone else dropping them at the target house, but if nobody's going to make a fuss I may as well do it myself.

I'll plant them on the outside by windows, or corners of walls where there may be cracks.
Can I use my Knowledge Skill in Structural Design to figure out where the best place to drop the bugs in is, so I can crawl them in when I get back to the safehouse?

On that note, are we within 400m of the target house, meaning I can get a two-way feed?

Given that bar work is pretty shittly paid, I might ask the owner if there are any other off the radar gigs in town that could help me earn a bit of cash. Hopefully might get a lead on our boys.

The place is about as shittily constructed as the rest of the buildings around here, so cracks and gaps in the walls are abundant. You can pretty much get in from wherever you like, and get out again, without issue.
On that note, are we within 400m of the target house, meaning I can get a two-way feed?
You could certainly get your truck within 400m, whilst keeping it a couple of streets away out of sight. Armoured trucks in the Verge wont cause too much comment, dwarves setting up satellite uplink equipment on the streets would. You can stick the uplink on your roof.

Joose - rough price on rooms?

I'm not entirely sure who's were or what now. Chopper already in area working at the bar. Al on his way to Frank's for his purchases. Nik on the way to drop of his ninja drones or already there in area? I think Leland and N-zo are at Frank's place?
Frank wrote:Al, all the stuff you wanted is in stock. So I called through to the shop to get one of the nice girls to pick it out for you. She'll drop it at the cage soonest, you know the way through dude.
Frank wrote:There's a few places look okay, we'll need to stagger hiring a couple of rooms next to each other by the looks of things. Not much space in the little hovels I'm looking at. I'll get that sorted and get a few bits and pieces lined up then head down to set it up.

Yeah. Once I'm geared up and tramp like I'm going to start hitting the streets for a few hours at a time, chatting up the locals. Make out some gang forced me out of my old haunts. Once it seems appropriate I'll start trying to ease some info out of them. I'll also position myself in places where I can see the comings and goings of our marks. See if they're actually here and try to get an idea of their movements if they are.

For cover story
Seattle Street Gangs 2 + INT 4 = 6

4, 4, 1, 6, 4, 5: 2 hits.

For outfit
Disguise 1 + INT 4 = 5

3, 2, 3, 4, 4: 0 hits.

For looking for marks
Perception 3 + INT 4 = 7

3, 2, 6, 2, 1, 4, 2: 1 hit.

For grilling tramps
Negotiate 5 + CHA 5 = 10

2, 5, 1, 3, 2, 5, 4, 3, 6, 1: 3 hits.

Great, I'll pass by and drop both drones on the outside of the house before retreating to Yelyena.
Once I'm in, and the dish is sitting neatly on the driver's side roof space I'll get them moving.

Drone 1 will be crawling inside and using the gecko feet to find a nice dark corner and observe the room.
Drone 2 will be scuttling along the outside and finding purchase between the outside wall and overhanging roof - overlooking the front door.

Once our targets are located let me know so I can assense them directly and help me keep tabs on them.

Until then I guess I can start doing regular interval astral checks. I'll scope out the area for 10 minutes out of every 60 minutes while I'm on the job unless someone has anything else for me to do.

Right, as people are starting to make plans and declairing longer termed actions, im going to call it for the first day. Everything people were setting up housing wise is now purchased, clothes and armour have been picked up, and all of the following is happening day 2.

Well, the locals seem to buy your cover story about being moved on. Its a common enough story that you get some pitying nods. Despite this, they are still quite wary of you, and it takes a bit of prodding before one of them lets on that theres been a few people disappearing recently. Being quite the dodgy area, people tend to keep themselves to themselves, but they also keep tabs on who is who. The missing people have put the locals on edge a little, and it takes a bit of talking to persuade them you are not a scout for Tamanousor something.

Whilst you are chatting to them, you get a good view of both Littletree and Firebird (as well as a few other First Nations guys) coming and going from the safehouse a few times. This gives you an oportunity to bring them up in conversation. The locals have seen Firebird a few times, but whatever he gets up to he doesnt do locally. Littletree is far better known. Apparently he spends his time hitting clubs and sleezy bars around the Tacoma and Renton areas, selling some new drug called Tempo. He's generally considered a bit slick, and as one guy puts it: "Motherfucker always makes his sale".

deject wrote:Once our targets are located let me know so I can assense them directly and help me keep tabs on them.
Now Al has ID'd them, you can make assensing rolls for them if you want. One each.

Drones are now in place. The inside of the safehouse is your basic gang squat; handfull of rooms, handful of different people coming and going, some weaponry lying around and evidence of drug use. Theres what looks like some shitty BTLgear in a corner, but it could just be being stored there.

You catch lots of references to Tempo on the audio feeds, but nothing clear enough to get more info than that.

As for the tramp buddy: He politely declines your offer. Even for him, the Verge is a shit place. Put it this way, the sourcebook describes the residents (other than the gangers) as having "failed at life".
herecomespete wrote:Joose - rough price on rooms?
still havent got all my stuff sorted, so I cant check at the moment, but im sure theres some price guide stuff in the 20th anniversary rools somewhere. Take the cheapest priced housing in there, and knock off 25%.

Finally:

As you are chatting to the locals, doggers, you suddenly realise that they have all gone a bit quiet, and started moving away. You realise that you have not been watching behind you.

I guess all this is day two then.

Right, given I shifted an old overcoat to Al for his ninja tramp work, I'll grab a new one. A large full length black leather trench coat from the steam punk line. Fitted with lots of pockets like a photographers vest, also with black spike buttons and with some heavy buckles on the cuffs. Availability is 7 and the cost from the store would be 800 nuyen.

I'll grab some big desert goggles to go with too, 15¥.

Realised I had only bought the chest piece for the form fitting body armour so I'll buy the rest, 640¥ (avail 8)

I'll also buy some floodlights (avail 4) 40¥, four IR laser tripwires 180¥ (avail 6), a Lucifer Lamp (avail 10) 120¥, a couple of doses of slab (avail 5r) ~300¥

Total - 1795¥ for everything bar the slab.
Frank wrote:Hey guys, just picking up some supplies and then I'll make my way to our lovely new pad and fix it up a bit. Any last requests whilst I'm still up at the shop?
