Looking for a little corp input here....

But should we look at making/buying an ORE Capital?
(info regarding known details on the BUM site)

It could make us/Alliance ALOT of iskies, as well as being dead handy for logistics. It WILL take work though, but these types of things tend to bring us together, which is something we've lacked of late.

Please let me know how you feel about it....

Definitely something on the cards for when they hit TQ (whenever that is). It's no accident that Mano has just trained Capital Ships Lvl 1 :P

I can't find anything other than speculation as to what the ORE capital is likely to be, but if it serves a purpose for which the corp (not necessarily alliance, although I realise acquisition of such a ship may require alliance wide resources) has a specific requirement then I say go for it. If the corp's need for such a ship doesn't provide justification of the effort then I'm sure we can find some other goal which will provide the togetherness Dres is seeking.

We could even build Rabbit a Dread :)

Hmm, that depends... Which flavor Dread are you trained for, Mr. Wabbit? Also, could it be a director thing? I'd fly the ore Capital, Friz has a carrier, Rabs in a Dread, all fitted w/ civilian mining lasers mining veld in 0.0....

And if the Ore thing looks to be available first, I'd suggest building that first, to open up the massive amounts of minerals we could mine with it! Capitals for everyone!
(Rab's, you need to fly a Moros... nice drone boat, as well as being a dread....)

I was joking, there's nothing that makes me deserve to have a dread than any other member of the corp :P But yes, I'm currently training for a Moros and the biggest obstacle is isk, I've always been shite at earning the stuff.

Cool, Moros is the one I would want too! (/me loves the little drones, like killer mosquitoes on crack!)

Yus, there is nothing that says we directors need special fun ships, unless perhaps the special fun ships are deemed necessary for the corp by the members, and we work TOGETHER to build them. Of course they would be CORP assets, corp insured and such so the corp wouldn't lose them, but an ORE capital could be nice for sucking up the roids for building lots of shiny ships. Hence my logistical interest even before I get to see specs.

Personally, I'm working to build a freighter by mining for empire ores when I get time online. I'm building up my trit supply until I have what is needed, then I'll build up the next mineral on the list, and keep working up until I can build it, selling the stuff I don't need to place nice buy orders for my current goal along the way. Slowly and surely will win the race, just not first! Then I'll hopefully ALSO have the skills for a shiny new ship, and I'll sell the freighter to buy it. That, or I'll have a SHITEload of minerals to pour on the market.

Dreads and supercaps (including the ORE ship by the looks of it being based on a mom chassis) are strategic capitals: if we need them we'll resource them, either by mining, centralised funding or both. We = alliance, cos somehow I can't see 5punkorp gallivanting off alone to pop pos's.

Carriers and freighters are deemed less worthy, costing only a couple of bill to put together and being relatively easy to mine for. So unless the corp really needs one (we don't) then it's up to the individual to sort out.

Right now, the industrial goal of the corp needs to be building at least 2 of every battleship listed on the Buy In Programme thread. We're going to need them.
