Indeed old chap, I did find those penis enhancing pills and ejactulate volume improvers to be very helpful.

When ground down and mixed with water, they produce a nice paste, which is just brilliant to use as war paint when re-enacting scenes from Zulu.

I'm sure that message would have made a lot more sense if I understood Turkish.

I doubt it. This looks like it might be grammatically correct, only in Turkish and excluding that first non-capitalised 'b'.

Actually, the first non capitalised B is a continuation of the first line, which ends in a comma. It just has a few carriage returns in it, as is normal in the beginning of a letter.

That's something I've wondered about. When writing a letter, people usually say:

Dear Sir,

When I was blah blah blah

So the salutation ends in a comma, but the next line starts as a new sentence with a capital letter. That is how I was reading the Turk's post.

Don't know what's official, but as far as I'm aware a carriage return isn't any form of punctuation and so should probably be ignored. I suspect it stems from the fact that people are confusing the strart of a new line with the start of a new sentence.

I think we need eion's advice on this one, as I have no idea! I've always started letters as above, and Word auto-corrects to a capital after the salutation if you go to a new line, but then I wouldn't put too much stock in that.

One r in start.

The start of the line below the addressee greeting should be capitalised. The comma in this case has a slightly different meaning than used in a proper sentence.

That was certainly my instinct, despite it being an apparent exception to the rule. Nice to have it confirmed by the ever-reliable Internet though.
