Complex running - ship choices

Post by Jin »

A quick word with Hulk this morning and I realise that I'm no good at the remote shield repping he suggests would be useful tomorrow and there's no way I can train the skills in time.

I therefore have two choices for the plex tomorrow:

1. Jin in a Domi with T2 Tank, T2 Med blasters/rails, T2 lt/med/heavy drones. Or forget tank and put in damage mods. Or forget the guns and fit some tractors/salvagers if that's required in a complex.

2. Cyrinn in a Raven with T2 shield tank and T1 heavy or cruise missiles.

3. Jhura in a retriever.

Never having done a a plex before I'm not sure which would be of more use. Which would you guys prefer me to bring?

OK, admittedly low level of experience here, but a setup Hulky and I've used for two days now seems like a win button in level 4's. Silver's been flying a Raven, assuming T2 or faction tank ofc, and I've been flying a Dominix, T2 tank. I've been letting the Raven take aggro, and sticking a single Large Shield Transfer Array on him, which my 4 T2 Cap Rechargers can run forever. Then I launch T2 Mediums against any frigs whilst he starts on the BS's. It doesn't take long to dispatch frigs, so then I move up to the Cruisers/BC's while he finishes the first few BS's. Then I switch to T2 Heavies and help finish off whatever aggro is left before we go to the next batch. All the while I have my tank as well, in case I absorb some aggro from reinforcements, which I take care of first so I can focus on his tank. I don't think we've had a mission yet that we had to warp out on, (except the time I got caught on the gate and couldn't get in to support him, but once we got that sorted, we finished the room easily).

So, again, limited experience disclaimer, but as many Dominix/Raven Combos as we could fit, would be awesome, in my mind.

Oh yeah, and I carry a loadout of Large Shieldy Drones as well, in case I a) get out of range of the transfer array, b) the unexpected happens and he starts to take damage. With all my repping powers on him at once, I refilled half his shields in seconds on one occasion, although he might have been actively boosting at the time as well.

Personally i'm going to be in a damage dealing Raven, i'll have a small tank of some kind just in case I get targetted but otherwise i'll leave that up to whoever is providing the main tank.

This is my base problem; I can't do any remote shield repping at all

That shouldn't be a problem, my skills arn't great either but we have a few people on board who are great at it so go for damage and leave the shields to people who are good at it. No point in everyone trying to do everything

what system is this plex or is this the sisi thing, if its high security i'll bring the uber cnr of doom of if escorted out there i'll bring to low or 0.0. also when we doing this. mo escort or trade in other thread i'll bring them T2 fitted no problems.

my setup as hulk can vouch can tank shit loads of dps more or less just need cap transfer and a shield bot or 2 for the tuff ones. the cnr setup has 1 slot left for a remote armor/shield repair if cpu is available. you want a rock solid tanker i can set it for uber resis (3 over 90%) but i would be totally reliant on repair from group but the repair amount would be little

now if no need for that i'll just grab a geddeon and fit it up for sisi spider either way.

ps

i am really looking for a motorcycle safety class so if i find one i am doing that over anything else but odds are it won't be till next thursday through sunday so this weekend should be good. that and we are getting rain all weekend so its an eve outing

Most ships will get BBQ'd in this complex as myself and friz found out with Hobo's. Need a small ship to take tank and wizz around. just stick some drones on him + reppers etc and the dps ppl do what they do best!

6/10s are a pisstake. We've done them before with a muninn tanking and having 5 medium rep bots provide the repair.

However, it's location isn't a pisstake: it's just down from a total warzone :likesitall: (Hobo's 'liberated' this plex off Sylph). Getting there will be a real problem, which is why we're going to jump our ships in.

Thusly, no battleships required, only Command Ships, Logistics, HAC's, AF's or T1 equivalents. We fly out in little ships, the Spirit-o'-Fea will jump the tankers and logistics down and stay in the POS throughout. Then we jump it all out again afterwards, neatly bypassing the fuck off big war happening 3 jumps away. Once we're done, we can take whatever we want and go prey on the stragglers.

Ay, bit of a point there, though with the outpost under siege isn't sylphs attention going to be elsewhere?

That's sorta the plan. But you have to go through their space to get to YQB.

/me runs back from checking the 5cheduler and realises that he's already signed up for it :w00t:

KK, if you want ships up to BC, my first choice would be the Enyo, but I have a ranis which could speed tank quite effectively, or a T2 Blaster fitted Brute in Unity.

Ofc Dolly. You will, however, find youself with a considerable wait if you rush back to join the plex run tonight.
