This is the site I used to get all the information.

I can send you some scans of the tests they make you do also if I've still go them.

Be warned it takes ages, a year from application to actually being a policeman. I'm still in the training phase, I passed all the interviews and intelligence/logic/reasoning tests easily. There is also a fitness test they'll make you do if you're a fat bastard or look unfit. I escaped it. It's something really easy like level 7 on the bleep test and a grip-strength test so nothing to worry/train for really.

2 days 'diversity' training anyone?
After a bit of thought about this last night I'm going to pursue the Specials route, at least to see if I like it and give me something constructive to do in my spare time, and maybe as a route in to the regular horse. If you do have any info then it would be gratefully received. :likesitall:

If I decide I like it then I'm sure I can find stuff to keep the bills paid in the meantime. I figure its as well to have as many irons in the fire as I can until I decide exactly what I want to do and find someone to give me that job! I'm also trying to get in touch with the Northumbria horse's recruitment people to see what the deal is with me being a fantastic graduate, so we'll see what comes of that.

Work nights doing refurbishment on London underground. Which is cool 'cos we can only work 4 hours each night.
I also work for London Underground (or more accurately, Transport for London) as a remote resolution person on the IM Service Desk (IT Helpdesk). I usually end up fixing stuff like broken installs, and restarting those freestanding display boards they have at station entrances which show how well the different lines are running. Also, for a company with that much control over London's infrastructure, they employ a lot of fucking idiots. Usually in the upper echelons of the Corporate bit.

I am about to be between being 2 types of student. Starting Electronic Engineering next year. But I'm thinking about getting a summer job related to electronics compared to continuing my part-time job selling hot dogs. Mainly because it'd be better for my CV coming out of university to have a place at a company during my holidays. Any one with any advice of companies to apply to? (Or send desperate letters to in my case) will be welcomed greatly.

My mate worked for a firm who make something to do with power supplies in oil related equipment, who he now works for as a graduate. Don't know what the money's like, but I know he goes abroad (Norway, Africa, India) as well as offshore so it's probably not bad.

They obviously haven't heard of our brewery and apparantly we won a "piss-up in a brewery award" hurray! It would be possible to organise some form of piss-up but the trouble would be getting here since we live in the outback of yorkshire.

Well, the Fatman family summer retreat (static caravan thingy that Daddy Fatman uses for his weekend sojourns into the Dales sometimes) is in Leyburn, about ten miles from Masham. I reckon I could wangle us the usage if required.
