Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 - Wii
Introduction
Having never played, nor liked Golf games at all until wii sports came along, it took a lot of thought for me to actually spend 40 smackers on this game. I used to hate Golf out right and mock those that played it. BUt I have to say I am enjoying myself and even practice my swing with anything remotely golf club like.
Gameplay
The Control System is very similar to that of Wii sports, where you swing the Wiimote like a golf club. However in Wii sports it only appeared to measure your back and forth on the swing for power. In TW07 your entire swing is taking in, you can mess up your shots no end, slicing, missing the ball comepletely and my favourite no shot.
The No shot happens occasionally, where the motions you make are not picked up at all, or happen on your front swing returning the remote to the ground (in putting especially!). This just takes a little getting used to, with a small pause at the top of your swing it rarely happens.
The character Creation is a little wierd and I found no mater what I did I always seemed to end up looking like a clone of Tiger himself, all be it a far sexier version. It goes a little too in depth and can take a while if you have to have your character be the exact representation of yourself i.e. forver as it wont happen.
Mini Games, if this game was just courses and tours alone i would be happy enough, but wait there is more. The mini games are great fun to play with your mates. especially the one (name I forget) where you play with the same ball, you must hit the ball a minimum of half the length of the previous shot, and the first person to pot wins. Takes some sneeky tactics and some good chipping to win.
Sights and Sounds
The Characters are quite well made and the courses are lovely. But the Backgrounds of houses and other such things are hideous, they really should have just left them out altogether I feel. To be fair though you don't tend to look at the mantle piece whilst poking the fire too much.
It has life sounds going on, like cars driving by, planes flying over head and People booing me as i go up to the tee. They must be jelous of my awesome mullet haircut, can't be that i'm crap. But the sound effects are good, at first i thought there was just lots of traffic outside till I realised that its a carpark outside my window not a road. The Wii mote also makes a satisfying "Chunk" sound when striking the ball.
Stuff that sucks
Not reading your proper shot on a putt occasionally and using your front to back motions instead.
Conclusion
It may not be graphically brilliant and occasionally the control system is annoying but all in all plays well. With all the courses and mini games should keep you busy for quite some time.

The control is better in Wii Sports, but the range of courses and game modes makes Tiger a decent buy.
You have to look at the screen to judge your backswing when doing less-than-100% shots and putting which detracts from the realism quite a bit for me. Graphically it's very poor compared to the othe console versions, but then that's to be expected. I think a MarioGolf-style game would suit the system well, although I'm reluctant to have to pay for Super Swing Golf (Pangya/Albatross18) when it's free on the PC.
