I started it up earlier tonight and it restarted my computer. Before it started up it said "Invalid boot.ini, loading from C:\Windows" and then started fine. Now Hamachi won't work. I've re-installed it and it won't get past "Connecting..."
It also seems to give that invalid boot.ini message every time I start the computer now, which is annoying because it just sits there for a good 10 seconds before actually doing anything.
Apparently my boot.ini got deleted somehow.
Help needed with hamachi and or boot.ini

If it's totally blank, you'll need to fill it in yourself.
should be something like
depending what version of windows you're using.
also
Start > run > MSCONFIG is your friend, under the boot.ini tab there's a check all boot paths option, which will check the boot.ini is correct.
should be something like
Code: Select all
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
Code: Select all
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

Checked that, which is how I figured out it got deleted. When I click settings under the Start Up and Recovery thing it says it can't find boot.ini, and that settings can't be changed.

Yep, if you're only running one install of XP, just put that in there.
as for hamachi not connecting, first, check to make sure that the Hamachi Network Adapter is enabled in your Network Connections window. Also, try pinging the hamachi mediation server. I'm looking for the IP right now.
edit: the servers appear to be in the form ssl-XX.hamachi.cc, where XX is a double digit number, starting at 01 or something.
