I can honestly say my washer/dryer does both very well
it is a: Indesit wd125
I believe the key is correct plumbing of the air vent hose bit so the heat and steam from the drying can escape and not just stay in the drum preventing proper drying

The trouble with washer/dryers is that the washing machine function can take a bigger load (fnar fnar) than the dryer function. So, if you do a full load of washing, you should really take about a third of it out before drying, or just do smaller loads to start with. I have a washer dryer in my current flat and I never bother with the dryer, because its more useful to me to be able to do more loads of washing.

Defending something you like by calling us idiots, telling us the music we listen to is shit and claiming you don't care what we think isn't fluffy. It's rather moist and smelly. You obviously haven't spent long enough in the washer/dryer.
