calendar?

Post by electrolaze »

there should be a calendar on the site, saying when then next online game will be, and also, it'd be cool if there was a thing that said are you going to play in this game? and if you click yes, it sends you a private message with the password to get into the game. (if that made any sense)

Good suggestions mate.

Stoat, looks like it will require a hack, but I'm unsure how well the forum skin will hold up once it's installed.

Give us a shout if you need anything :)

Surely you could just put the calender up on a seperate "page" rather than incorprating it into the forum itself? That way you dont have to worry about how it'll interact with the forum style/skin

You can do that, but then you need to have a seperate database, or run one of those calendar thingy's from a different site.

I know what you mean though, and if it causes to many problems, we might just have to do that :(

Would be nice for it work with our current forum though, as it just makes things a lot simpler to use.
I'm pretty sure we could amend some of the php files so that the skin would work.

It's nearly finished anyway, WEY.

It's based on the 4rthur Pub Scheduler-
a MiniScheduler on the front page displays what games are on Today, and the scheduler page will show future events, who's playing, etc with full Add Edit Delete functions.

as a side thought, along similar lines, something to log who has the ability to play what would be good.
Some sort of game register, maybe. Then have the results displayed so you can easily look at one page and go "ah, yes, theres 12 people on 5punk who can play UT, and 20 people who play CS. Ill get CS then!"

Summat like that, anyway.
Calendars a cracking idea though :D

Stoat, does that still tie in with our user accounts here on the forums though?
I assume it's going to be part of the same SQL database, or are they run seperately, but the accounts are linked?

It's all part of the current forum. No extra logins, no username differences.

As they say somwhere: Seeeaaamless.

I'll send you a link to test it out before I let it loose.
