Swapping sound channels
Ok, I finally got round to wiring up my front audio ports by getting someone with smaller hands than me to do it. However, somehow the left and right channels have been put the wrong way round, despite following instructions exactly.
Rather than undoing it all and trying to rewire it by guessing which wires are wrong, I was wondering if there is a bit of software that would just swap the left and right channels for me instead? Also, the rear speaker port has now got a bad connection somewhere and is a little crackly at times, but the channels are correct on it. I'm not so bothered about this since the front one is far easier to use.
I know the obvious answer is buy a soundcard, but thats not really an option at the mo since I have zero monies.
I've got an Asus A8N-E mobo, and am running nforce4 with bios 1011-004 if that makes any odds.

All ingenious ideas, but none of them work 100%. Headphones are angled to be worn one way, and lean away from my ears if reversed, and I play with headphones more than speakers now due to the missus often being asleep when I play. Think I'll just get a soundcard when I start my new job. If I get it. Interview tmrw!
So on to the inevitable next question: any sound cards worth getting for under £20? What and where from?

and

£6.68
You could prob get them to make up a lead for cheaper, but this way you can use the bits for other stuff, or swap it back later.

Yes! (maybe)Lateralus wrote:So on to the inevitable next question: any sound cards worth getting for under £20? What and where from?
you just need to be careful to get one with it's own processing crap onboard - otherwise it'll eat cpu like onboard sound does
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/98937
looks pretty decent
otherwise try to find an audigy 1 or 2, or a soundblaster live from a few years ago, all are great cards (basically they all use the EMU10K1 or EMU10K2 chip)
Also a few people here have changed from onboard to proper sound, and gained a bit of computer performance from it.
Ego-reply below for links to cheapness.
Edit: sorry it took many days to reply, i got distracted
