Here goes
Introduction
The game is a good take on the Warhammer 40,000 little toys (which I used to collect).
Gameplay
The game play is good with, like in battle for middle earth, you build squads instead as single troops. The twist that you can build extra troops to the squad and you can give them leaders and big or little guns (it is your choice).
As RTS's go I think it is one of the best about.
The campaign is only looking at the good side of the battle, you only get the bad side in the add-on (winter assault).
To gather resources in the game you have to capture points which give you a boost in resource gathering. To further increase the resource gathered you can build listing posts on to them.
Look of the game
The game looks like a big battle field with creators and ruins. The cut scenes are the real game graphics which I think is a good feature.
It has some snazzy graphics but there are some down points I have found when in the chaos and building things.
Armies
ORCS big bad and very mean these guys attract in vast hordes with one almighty leader.
Space Marines this army is hard but not much different to the chaos apart from the fact they get terminators (uber hard to kill) and are good.
Chaos This is a evil army almost like the undead some say
Eldar this army is good with a hard ass avatar (big unit) Their tanks can jump which is handy in some maps.
Imperial guard (add on only) Big cowards unless they have a squad leader otherwise they are rather shit.
Conclusion
Looks good but unless you like RTS's than you should avoid. It is a good representation of the units you could collect.

To add more detail to it:
Graphics: They're pretty enough, and the super weapon effects do look quite nice, but there's better about imho. Supreme commander would wipe the floor with its graphics engine.
Gameplay: Campaign is diappointingly short, and the ending is fairly abrupt. It honestly feels like one long tutorial as your spoon fed right to the very end. Multiplayer is good fun if you've got some good people to play against, but as with all online RTSs there's the sour types that quit when your about to win.
There is some tactical dept to dawn of war, but once you know the armies well you'll generally stick with a set type of units and upgrades, as the other options just arn't as good.
Sound: Sound effects are quite distinctive, and sound realistic (well, as far as guns 38 millena in the future can do).
Replayability: I boot it up every once in a while to whomp the computer over the head on hard difficulty, but I can't compete with the insane setting, and I've never even tried competing against insaner, so if you can't stand computer AIs getting the better of you, you may well be here a while, otherwise, not great.
Score: 6.5/10
Fun, entertaining, but you'll soon find something else you want to play. (that said it is currently my favourite RTS, but I'm really just waiting for supreme commander)

The only downfall of this game in my opinion was the mind-numbing repetitiveness of the single player campaign. More often than not it was a.. "Set up base, amass troops, walk through a corridoor framed by trees/mountains/giant penises*/rivers, set up second base, reach objective".. Wash, rinse, repeat.

I hate hate hate and loathe the resource management in DoW. As much as I hate that though, I have nothing but unbridled and extremely strong malice for not being able to build where I want to, and only having a fixed area around control points to build on. I think that this system only serves to make the game frustrating. Managing buliding placement and base management should be a function of the map, not based on whether there is a stupid control point there. It's incredibly fucking stupid if you ask me.
