Browser Memory Usage

If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Browser Memory Usage

Post by Nickface »

What's a typical amount of memory a browser should be taking up at any given time? As of late, I've been hearing how Firefox becomes more and more of a memory hog the longer it's open, and I'm just getting concerned. I did go to the about:config page and tweak the "browse.sessionhistory" setting that everyone seems to have posted, but is there anything else I should be doing?

I saw one the other day that dumps the memory cache to disk when you minimize Firefox- I shall see if I can find it.

remember, firefox has lots of "feature" memory leaks

also, its cache will frag a HDD like no other, i often put it on a seprate partition.
