Oh, hello.

Thats a hell of a thing. Still tells us nothing about the game itself, but it sure is shiny. Music choice is...interesting. At least its not Generic Trailer Metal.

Very odd. It's like the animators made this great sequence then gave it to the hip young things in the PR department to choose the music. It's not bad, just weird.

Anyway, I can't see Space Hulk without thinking of that cartoon.
Of course there's fffffucking genestealers. There's always genestealers.

If I remember correctly, this is going to be an FPS or a 3rd Person one, rather than a TBS like the current Space Hulk Ascension game.

Cautiously looking forward to it, I hope it's AVP 2000 difficulty rather than just a romp in the park for the termies, but I'm more worried about it being made by Cyanide, who have a lot to prove still, in conjunction with the guys behind EYE Divine Cybermancy, a game that seemed to get the reputation of flawed but interesting.

Soo, people have been having a looksee at Gamescom.

Bit-tech report it's a bit L4D, but with a few more tactical elements. I quite like the localised damage, not many games do that and could make things quite interesting.

PGC on the other hand, are handing out a few more details. Single player + Co-op modes, 5 classes:
Librarian, Heavy Weapon Support, Apothecary and Assault are the standard bunch. Tactician Specialists are the fifth, and “support the team with a passive buff as well as other abilities, which is useful for controlling the swarms of Genestealers.” which sounds a bit vague as to what they are, as buffs + AoE stuff are normally the librarian thing.

If you've not seen it, back in April there was a gameplay trailer posted:

From the new screens, the GUI has been changed a bit, rest looks ok.

November is apparently the date to keep an eye on.

Another vid has sneaked out:

I'm almost sold. Looks frantic and the marines look and feel chunky. Hopefully it's actually half decent to play.

I would have thought someone else would have posted something about the beta, as I know a few of us have it and I've seen at least Pnut having a bash on it.

All I'll say for now is don't buy it yet. It was never going be redefining the genre, but it's got potential as some things are quite good, but by hell it's not going to be anywhere near polished enough for the release on the 9th Dec.

It's really buggy, at state I'd call as just barely out of alpha due to a large number of crashing and game breaking bugs, which is not what I was expecting considering this beta is so close to the release date. Give it 3-6 months and I think there could be a solid game.
