Friday 12th - Monday 15th August, 2016Old shit nobody cares about that Grimmie wrote:Instead it will be at my house!* Whoop whoop!
We're looking at first two weekends in August. Place your votes, 5punkers.
* Still in Birmingham, and still within a short drive of major transport links.
Come one, come all - there will be alcohol, there will be cats, there will be board games and beards.
The main event
We usually all assemble on the Friday, go do something big on the Saturday, chill out and play games at home on Sunday and nurse hangovers and say goodbye on Monday.
Last year we went to Warwick castle to watch a big stone get thrown by a trebuchet, buy wooden swords and get assaulted by a loose condor.
This year I thought we could drive a short distance to Solihull and do a group shoot at an archery club my dad goes to.
Solihull archers website wrote:The event is 2 to 2.5 hours long, groups from 8 to 24 people are ideal, though we could consider larger numbers if there is demand. Groups are divided into shooting teams and each team has a coach or experienced archer to assist participants in developing the skill of shooting a recurve bow.
Participants take part in a competitive "Shoot out". The members of the winning team are presented with archery medals to recognise the achievement.
Medals!
Archery is off. Boo. I'll think of something.
Entertainment
Videogames
I own a Mega Drive and a PS3 with two controllers - feel free to bring your own consoles and games
We also have Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, and Jackbox Party Pack 1 and 2 on steam streaming.
Board games and beards
If I can motivate myself to write something, there will be D&D with six player slots available, if I can't then we can wing a chaos dungeon with unlimited player slots.
Board game wise, we have Small World: Underground, Pandemic, Skull, Machi Koro, Fluxx, Zombie Fluxx, Pirate Fluxx, Martian Fluxx
Location & Transport
We'll be holding this one at Emerald and I's new house in Quinton, Birmingham. This is on the other side of Birmingham than usual, so pay attention!
By car or taxi
PM me for a house number and postcode! Please note there's limited parking on my road, but the main road that leads on to it does not have double-yellows on it, so you should be able to park long term along it.
By train
Selly Oak train station is the closest, and about a 15 minute car journey away. I can tootle over in my little car to collect you (space for two people with legs, and one paraplegic sitting behind me), or you can catch a taxi.
You can get to Selly Oak from Birmingham International or Birmingham New Street stations.
By plane
There's a 2 minute shuttle from Birmingham International Airport (BHX) to Birmingham International train station that runs constantly.
