I don't know how many of you guys are looking forward to the new Metal Gear Solid games, but they tend to be big milestones for me, and some of my favorite games.
Konami first announced the "next" Metal Gear Solid in late 2012 originally under the title of "Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes". A few months later a trailer for a game called "The Phantom Pain" was released which caused a lot of confusion.
We now know that "The Phantom Pain" will be the next proper installment in the series, however very shortly Ground Zeroes will be released as a smaller build up game.
This week Game Informer gets a copy of a near complete version of Ground Zeros and gets to review it for their cover article. The price structure was also revealed, $40 for Physical PS4, $30 for Digital PS4, $30 for Physical PS3 and $20 for Digital PS3.
However it is one key line that has whipped up a fuss in fans and journalists:
"Judged just by the core story mission, Ground Zeroes is short, ... We completed it in just less than two hours."
This was going to be the kind of game that I would buy a PS4 for, however the large worry now is that this is a very overpriced extended demo, that is not a complete game and is just ripped from the start of "The Phantom Pain".
What are your thoughts? Is (at the high end) $40 (£25) way too much for glorified demo? Or for the fans is this a great way to keep them interested and service them, who can play for as little as $20 (£12) as the full game is (rumored) nearly 2 years away?

I suppose it depends on how much game there is and whether it's any good. Portal 2 wasn't very long and was priced at pretty much full price, but every second of content was great. If it is just a glorified demo then I can't see how they can justify it. I know PS4 games are more expensive than the PC games I'm used to, so adjusting for scale it's not too bad at £12. Ultimately I'd probably wait for the reviews though if you think it's a gamble.

IF that turns out to be true then it is far too much to pay. There is precedence for this, GT5 Prologue was released with very little content but content was added over time until the eventual release of GT5. This may be the approach they are taking.
I would wait for official announcements of intent and reviews before making any purchase.
