SPACEHULK!!!

Post by Joose »

SPACEHULK is being made. A direct convertion of the board game on to the pc. For some reason my iPhone is insisting on autocorrecting it to all caps. SPACEHULK! It seems appropriate.

More SPACEHULK here.

Space Hulk, while not a bad game, was one of my least favourite GW board game releases. If they make it like the board game and it's not expensive I'll probably still buy it. I'd rather they had made Necromunda though. Or Hero Quest, Space Crusade, Advanced Hero Quest, Battlefleet Gothic, or Man O' War. Still, now we have two recreations of BW games, so we're on the right path.

An inquisitor mmo that did battlefleet gothic space war, epic size combat that could zoom in to squad level, xenos, heretics and under-hive warfare on terra.

That's what I want from a game.

But until my pipe dream happens I guess anything that helps conversion of boardgames to pc games is good. They cost a shit pile less to play like that.

And that stop motion video is so bad it's amazing!

Oh yeah, I did see this in action at Rezzed.

They weren't showing anything more than what's been on shown on RPS really, but I have to say, it's looking pretty good and certainly living up to the brutality of the 90's game.

(media) linkypoos (/media) but with [ and ] brackets. Although for Youtube you do have to get rid of the embedded rubbish in the url and shorten it to "...com/watch?v=[video numbers]"

This is out btw.

It looked good when I saw it at Rezzed, but as I didn't get to play, I'm waiting on a couple of reviews. RPS seemed to like it quite a bit when they'd got hands on time a little while back.

Pnut folded and bought it, so we can also wait on his opinion. I'll be seeing what the reviews say too - for £23 I'm not about to take a punt on speculation.

At any rate, I hope it's successful. I want it to pave the way for other GW games. Space Hulk was probably my least favourite, so any step onwards from this can only be a good thing.

This is actually the first mission proper. So far all I can say is fuck, this is not easy and I'm sure terminators shouldn't be that squishy. I'll get round to doing a proper first impressions thing soon, hopefully.

True. I want a Necromunda game.

RPS did not like it.

Which is the worst outcome. It's just like the board game, but they've botched the execution. So it's a bad videogame. It might bomb because of that, and Games Workshop might decide that the specialist games are a non-profitable market. I think the wargames will probably do fine, as they always do, and I can't think of a better house to make WHFB than Creative Assembly, but this might be another nail in the coffin for our hopes of a Necromunda game. Blood Bowl wasn't the best adaptation (but it was playable), and this is only making the situation worse. Such a shame.

I bought this in the Steam Sale. I have to say it's not actually that bad at all.

Obviously it's been patched a fair bit since the reviews, but from what I can see, it's pretty playable and is certainly a Space Hulk game.

Yeah, I picked it up at Easter I think and it's not at all bad. It's not awesome either, but then I was never a huge fan of the board game.
