Problems building a SATA system

If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Problems building a SATA system

Post by Wiggy »

Right, I have a problem.

I'm attempting to build a SATA system for my cousin. This is the first one I've done, all the previous ones I've built have been IDE. I've installed all the components into the case and tried to switch it on but....nothing. All the fans come on and the HDD makes a whirring noise but there is no activity on the screen. Even the DVD drive will not work when the IDE cable is plugged in, but it'll open/close/whatever when it's taken out and just the power lead is in. I've a feeling it might be a problem with the MOBO, anyone got any ideas?
