Just checked, and you are correct. You can shoot twice with a burst fire weapon as one Quick Action. You treat both as seperate attacks, with seperate to hit rolls and everything.
I dont have my notes with me at the moment, but after armour reduction etc I dont think thats killed it yet.
Yep, that is most definately a miss. The rules dont specify what to do with Critical Failures for the to hit roll. Normall I would do something like "you hit something you didnt mean to" but that doesnt really make sense in this case unless you managed to miss so badly you hit a full 180 degrees from what you were aiming at and shot Barry or Tiny
I'll say that is a a failure with the gun (a jam, if jams make sense for future-tech rail guns) that you will need to spend an action unbreaking. Essentially: miss a go.
Next round! Despite the thing shitting oil and smoke, its still coming at you, keeping position on Edgars side of the car. Same combat order as before: Barry, Flier, Edgar.
Your laser hits in the already damage area, and something sets on fire. There is a soft "whump" noise, and it drops into the road, black smoke now pouring from every part.
Frank wrote:Almost there, you should be able to see it on your left. Head for the northern end of the airport. Its not normally the public entrance, but I don't imagine anyone will care at the moment.
You can indeed see the airport on your left. You are currently on a bridge having just passed over the Potomac, and can just about see the Pentagon to your right. You actually just passed the Jefferson Memorial, but were busy running away from flying mechanical nasties at the time.
You are only a couple of minutes away from the airport now.
Ok, well you pull in to the airport without incident. Coming in from the north, down an access road, means that you are coming in to the airport from the side with all the runways and such rather than the carparks and security entrances. Theres a fair amount of smoke coming from the airport itself, and there's no-one to be seen from this side.
Everyone do me a perception roll to see what useful things you can see. You can take time on it if you want, up to +30.
Although a lot of the planes around the runway are either trashed or on fire, you can see a couple that look to be untouched. They are both pretty modern looking, meaning they will essentially fly themselves. They are however also both sub-orbitals (meaning they go damn near into space, but they wont actually get you in to orbit. They are super fast though.) Proper space capable vehicles are notable only by their absence. Looks like someone else has already got to them.
The main building is mostly intact, and most of the fire and assorted other damage is on the other side, where most of the people would have been. This side of the building is the side that would be past the security barriers, and looks like its hardly taken any damage beyond a few smashed windows. That's good news for the Egocaster prospects, as that is likely to be on this side of the building.
You can hear, from the messed up side of the building, an intermittent mechanical buzzing noise.
Finally, despite there being the occasional patch of blood, there are no bodies that you can see.
Oh man, this looks bad guys. It sounds like whatever those flying things are, they're here. We should probably get out of the open as soon as possible. I can't remember how old my backup is.
