Has it got Wireless multiplayer?

Viewtiful Joe on PSP has awesome reviews, as mentioned elsewhere, and it would be the first game I'd buy if I had a PSP. (Had a self cleaning electric shaver instead)

Also Lumins (or soemthing similar sounding) has had lots of praise, and I would tend to stick to the "pick up and play" style games, as opposed to long story based games that hardly ever work well on a handheld.

GTA Liberty City Stories is a great game, much better then GTA 3.

Pursuit forice is also okay, but very hard and repetitive.

I've only got 3 games for mine so far: Pursuit horse, Wipeout Pure and Everybody's Golf. My advice: don't buy any of them. Pursuit horse is crap, and Wipeout and that golf one are just too damn addictive. I'm losing valuable Eve-time playing that damn thing.

Not to say they don't rule though ;)

If you're lucky enough to get one with a version 2.0 or less firmware you'll be able to get a megadrive and snes emulator, both of those have way better games than are currently available on the PSP.

I've been playing sonic the hedgehog and various old final fantasy games on my brothers PSP :)

This is what i'm hoping for!!, I have over 700 snes roms which would like a new home on the PSP.

Can you not downgrade V2.0 firmware then? :?

I'd considered Wipeout but was always rubbish on the old versions :(

Theres a way to downgrade from 2.0 to 1.5 but thats a bit pointless now that some one managed to hack 2.0. I'm not sure if you can downgrade from anything else.

Watch out for the PSP virus that's floating about immitating itself as a piece of downgradable firmware software.

I nearly bought one, but didn't - the only game that really appealed was GTA, but I have that in enough formats already.

I thought about a Nintendo DS which are down to about £80 now, but there wasn't much for that either, I was a bit disappointed that in the "Virtual Cute Puppy" game you couldn't punch them repeatedly in the face. Not that I'd do that to real puppies, just sickening virtual ones.

My sister got a PSP, but she got very (erm) sistery games. She has different tastes to almost everyone on the planet and doesn't like anything with cars, guns or sport, or anything that's remotely commercially successful. She got a tetris-like puzzle game, the one where you have to guide blobs of mercury around a maze and a Sudoko game. I had to stop playing after 5 minutes as puzzle games annoy me.

:above: This

The games I play most on my phone are puzzley ones and the only computer game my Mum ever played was tetris, in fact she nearly broke my sisters game boy she played it so often!

I think I will start off by getting Viewtiful Joe, GTA and possibly Lumines. I also want a racing game so either Ridge Racer or Wipeout

Not yet but the person who made the 2.0 hack is working on it.
