Quote from NPR:
Air has recorded its share of soundtracks — some of the French duo's best work has accompanied the films of director Sofia Coppola — but Le Voyage Dans La Lune is different. Commissioned in conjunction with the priceless and painstaking restoration of the groundbreaking 1902 science-fiction film of the same name, Le Voyage Dans La Lune (translation: A Trip To The Moon) provides a springily modern supplement to a work of massive historical import. Listening to the soundtrack, and especially watching the restored film, it's as if Air wants to serve notice that Georges Méliès' work was exactly 110 years ahead of its time.
This album is pretty awesome, an early standout this year for me. It's worth watching the film with the soundtrack (it's included with the album usually I believe) as it's rather entertaining, and only 15 minutes long, but it gives you some context for the music. Without that context the music is still great, but you will appreciate it more having watched the film.

Loved Moon Safari, but not really listened to anything of theirs since - might have to have a listen to this one.

Pocket Symphony was bloody brilliant. Talkie Walkie was good, but it had some snooze-worthy tracks.

This album is definitely a departure for them though. It is more experimental rock than their usual work.
