Need some advice..

I have just been approached by my Web Hosting company asking stating

"We've got one email from one of the leading corporate customer from US and they are looking for the domain name teamwarped.com. They would like to pay good amount for this domain name so let me know if you would like to sell this domain name and what cost would you expect for your domain name if you think of selling it."

I have also been contacted by the Hosting company in the US who's party is interested.

The question is... what is a reasonable amount to ask for??

Answers on a postcard or reply below if it's easier..

This is a tough one, if you ask too much; They may be scared off and lose interest.. if you ask too little; you're getting robbed.. I think the best way to answer is to say you're willing to sell and are negotiable on the price.. and barter with them. (That is if you're willing to sell.. which I imagine you are.. as you're asking us

)

I would be willing to sell if the price was right... a wodge of cash would be very handy at this time, I could pay off the car and try to get a bit solvent again after Xmas..

ooh, difficult one.

try to probe them a little, mainly depending on your situation, i'd look for at *LEAST* $400, but if they _want_ it, they'll probably stretch to $1000 or more

pffft... I fekkin hope not!! The 2 other Team Warped's I know of are a Paintball Team in the US and the other was a team involved in breaking 64Bit Encryption in OS2.

I am dreaming of maybe making a few bob out of this deal... not $5.

The fact it says leading corporate customer it makes me wonder if its the crash bandicoot people making a rip off of that tag team sonic the headgehog game... If thats the case you could be rich.

Damn... there goes my dream of riches, just recieved this e-mail from the interested American party...

"I wanted to see if you would be willing to sell the domain.

Just a little about us and why we would like the domain.
We would be using it for a non-profit Street Motorcycle stunt team that
put shows on to raise money for things like Toys for Tots, hurricane
relief shows we did last year for Florida and then again this year for
Katrina and others this year.

We own a Street Motorcycle shop here that helps the team out and wanted
to get the domain to go along with there name to help raise more money
via the web.

I am a bit confused as how a "leading corporate customer" can be a "non-profit team" that "raise money" for "hurricane relief".

A thousand quid would be absolutely nothing to a company, yet one would feel bad taking anything from a charity.

Charities, however do have to pay for stuff, even if it's just for the equipment they use in their fundraising. If you asked whatever the "going rate" is: maybe a couple of hundred, you'd be effectively donating 800 notes - yay you!

Something like this

. Basically depends on how much they know, but say that the thing is worth about $5000 to you, but you'd be willing to sell it to them for $1000 because its a charity.

Sounds a bit dodgy, "leading corporate customer's" aren't normally a charity company.

ask for £3000 seen as they lied to you.

Well, how much is the name worth to you?

Be objective on this, then add 20% and you get the figure you want to ask off them, charity or not.
