I too failed to notice that this had an update :(

Anyway, Hal will be hanging about in plain view, with his back to the place, smoking a cigar and chatting to Eraser. What a businessman and a stormer would chat about is anyone's guess. Cigars, maybe.

I figure that as they know I'm waiting for a meeting with them later, my presence shouldn't be that suspicious, and might distract them from noticing the rest of you.

Also, I can't hide for shit.

In which case they don't peer at Deject, because you're a pretty obvious distraction. They do have a little discussion before they do their search though and one goes back into the bar. While the others move tramps on etc. the barman approaches you both.
Barman wrote:Evening gentlemen. Did you not have anywhere to wait before your meeting with the boss? You should have said, we have a nice quiet back room we reserve for.. Well, usually business clients really. Which I suppose you are. Would you like to wait there? I think we could arrange a little hospitality for you if you'd like a drink.

He leads you into the now empty building and to the door behind the bar into which he vanished earlier. He holds it open, and inside are a few tables and chairs, better condition than the ones in the main lounge, and a gaming machine. There's also an elevator at the far end.

I'll assume you have no objection to entering then. He seats you at a surprisingly sturdy table (none of the furniture collapses if Eraser sits on it, although it does groan) and steps out to get you drinks. Depositing whatever tipple you fancy on the table, he sidles off into the bar again to leave you alone.

Deject, you start to see activity on the camera you planted. Guys in paramilitary-style clothing start heading in and out of the elevator. The ones coming out are carrying weapons slung and magazines of ammo in plastic boxes. There are a number of handguns, and some of the weird shotguns like the guy you saw earlier had. One has a large assault rifle with what looks to be some quite heavy ammo. Make a Rival Company roll to identify it if you like.

I really need to get Rival Company skillz at some point.

Unskilled (-3): 10, 2 + -3 = 9

I can try patching the video to someone else though. Anyone besides thems in the meeting want to take a look?

Seems not. Hal and Eraser are left alone for a few minutes, before the elevator starts to whir.

Sorry, completely missed this post. I have 4 in Rival Company, so let's give it a go (if that's alright with Doggers):

7,4,+4 = 15

Sure, no problem. That rifle is a Thresher design, a SHEER AR.

These guys have DN and Thresher gear? Maybe Tek Trex is shifting gear they've grabbed from dead enemies? I haven't heard of co-operation between the Rivals so that might make sense.

I'm still leaning towards Tek Trex being a red herring, myself.

If we are sufficiently far away from people, I'll whisper, letting the team outside know where we are, what's going down, etc.

You're on your own at the moment so that's no problem. The elevator doors open and out step three men in Red power armour. The one at the front is what looks to be resprayed medium Thresher armour, and he's carrying that SHEER. He has his helmet off, identifying him as the military style bloke in the suit Deject saw. The other two are a little smaller, wearing bulky looking suits of unfamiliar design. One has one of those shotguns, the other a FEN AR modified as a carbine with a folding stock. They have helmets on.

None are currently pointing the weapons at you, and the commander holds one hand up to you.

Right then, lets watch this all go horribly wrong...

Hal gets up takes his cigar out of his mouth in his left hand and offers his right to Keane to shake. When he talks, its in that slightly too fast, full of run on sentences style that you tend to get from blokes in the markets.
Hal wrote:That you might, that you might. My names Hal Mammon, you can call me Hal, most everyone does, this giant lump next to me is Eraser, don't mind him, if he had two brain cells to rub together he wouldn't know what to do with em, so you can talk freely in front of him. As you are no doubt aware I am a SLA operative, but don't let that worry you none. Whilst I am in the area on, as it were, official business, my coming in here to see you is not exactly pucka, on the record activity. See, there's a currently ongoing investigation hereabouts into the selling of certain items of dubious legality, specifically related to reports of men in suits making deals with the local Jo's, and I know that you fellas have had dealin's with the Jo's of one sort or another, so I figure you might know something about it, or even be the guys with the goods, and that investigation might be of some interest to you. Now, currently, all we have on this investigation is rumour and conjecture, what we don't have are any hard facts or proof, but that's just a matter of time when the assigned Ops team get here. Seems to me like a more lucrative venture could be constructed; you need to sell your stuff, I know people who would want to buy, and I'm talking bulk orders, not the dribbles and odds and sods that you can push on to little nothing local gangs. I figure we hook up supply with demand, I make this investigation go away through "lack of evidence", you get good solid regular orders, I get a reasonable skim of the profits for my considerable personal risk and effort. Course, before anything like that could 'appen, I would need to put eyeball to merchandise, as for all I know the reason the investigation hasn't found any evidence is cos their *is* nothing interesting going down. So, you show me something to whet my appetite, answer a couple questions on your set-up, and we will see where things lead.

Awight?
Hal sticks the cigar back in his mouth, and looks expectant.

Also, a roll to make that wall of text sound more convincing than it otherwise might:

Diplomacy:Roll(2d10)+7:
6,1,+7
Total:14

It is diplomacy, right?

My phone doesn't like quotes for some reason.

He looks a little bemused, and a little amused.
Keane wrote:I see. Well that's a big help. Although we're buying, not selling. The equipment is a bye line really, like spraying your armour, big fellow. Problem is, dealing with these chrome peddlars has attracted too much of the wrong kind of attention. Normally we stay under the company radar, you see. We don't mess with the man, and the man leaves us alone. So a squad of Ops is a problem. They're like the heads of a hydra - destroy one and two more will take its place. Luckily for us you seem to be quite the business minded chap then, because I've a proposal. You complete your BPN and leave with no mention of our little company, and we'll help you get the bad guys. You can help yourself to their hardware.

Hal, after a short pause. wrote:Well, its not the deal I was hoping for, but buggers cant be choosy, or whatever the saying is. I wont say no to scoring a few brownies for bringing in the info. The BPN is for the source of the trouble, not you guys. If you give me solid intel on these charlies, then, well, I see no reason to include anything about an unrelated organisation like your good selves in my report. Course, its only a jellied eel if what you tell me pans out. If it doesn't, you'll be up to your 'umphries in Slops.

So what do you know?
