I've always wondered about that - is it a sort of joke, like Yorkshire Pudding - where there isn't actually any?

When I was in Salford, they refused to use the Y-word, and called Yorkie Puds: 'roast
That's the only way I can think to spell it, there was a sort of half-silence before the word.
