Being an ignoramus in these matters, I <i>assume</i> bbcode is when you use pointy brackets rather than square brackets? To test my theory I won't even preview this before posting (cos I'm rock and roll like that).

Edit: assumption fail

Edit2: maybe it was the square brackets...

Edit3: Yay! No idea what the other bits were about then.

Agreed, but such is the march of progress. Like when you had to get used to the little round button in Win7, or the horrible interface in Office 2007. If we can get this forum feeling as good as the old one did (note: not necessarily feeling the same as the old one) then with the extra stuff it's capable of it could really propel us into a new era. Bali's review code alone is a great addition.

We can create custom bbcode tags if we find there's something we really need, which has already been done for strike:

Code: Select all

[strike]{TEXT}[/strike]
translates to

Code: Select all

<span style="text-decoration: line-through;">{TEXT}</span>
Something similar could replicate the spoiler tag we used to have.

Sort of, I don't know how you'd do the :hover state in-line.

Something like

Code: Select all

<a style="background-color:black"
 onMouseover="this.style.backgroundColor='white';"
 onMouseout="this.style.backgroundColor='black';">
Your all faaabulous!
</a>
or we could have it so you have to highlight it

This would be fine with me.

Oh hey, can we default external links to open in new tab/window? It's the default pretty much everywhere.

Or

Code: Select all

<span class="ThisClassHasASpanHoverProperty">I LOVE HORSES BEST OF ALL THE ANIMALS</span>
You don't need to think inline.

So you have no idea either. :P

Slightly related, I sent Stoat the code for the new Trev, if you keep poking him hard enough it should be up soon.

Play nice you two.

We know how to do the
Spoiler:
tag, it's on the list. Making the forum look less cluttered and more 5punky needs to be done first.

The rank icon might be down to my image folder not being there any more. A couple probably got hosted there. I really need to sort that out.

I'll have a look at files and stuff

I've restored rank icons, but I don't know how to get the [media] button on the posting page. It's special code.
