LANSE used to have a BF1942 clan going back a few years - now (our regurlars) we are pretty much like you guys (just better) - being a group of like minded players.

I think you entirely miss the point.

mostly 5punkers just don't give a shit, it doesn't mean they're not "good players" We're here to have a laugh, teabag stuff and basically have a kickabout in the park. :)

Next time i'll rant, and you won't like that.

Now now children.. I didn't go to the event (As much as I would've liked too.. Perhaps closer to the east next time? :)).. But when you're leaving 1hour free-time beween? I feel thats a pretty short time, I mean some games you want to play for more than 1 hour, especially RTS.. Maybe you should have a good 3/4hour stint of free-time.. otherwise you'll have alot of people doing what HeHulk and TY did.. (Staying up all night..).. hell I'd do that anyway :ahoy:

I personally would not mind at all playing games I wouldn't usually play - it makes a nice change, and you may even find something you like. All it takes is a bit of give and take - people agreeing to play games they may not like so that other people will play the games that they might not like. Despite the chaotic nature of 5punkers I think we're mostly pretty mature and reasonable and would agree to this.

Hell, I'd even play C&C if it means everyone enjoying the event more :)
:above: All of the above for me too

I don't usually play RTS games but would be willing to get involved for the sake of everyone else.

I agree with you BlkNight, kicking the breakfast into touch, setting up a schedule of games (and hosting this on the internal website) with gaps inbetween for general mucking about and doing your own thing would be great.

Also, getting everything set up on the Friday is a very good idea, but more to the point, if there is a schedule of organised matches, then it would also help people who bring their own machines to get off their ass and install the games they don't "own" ready in time.

I imagine it's not a good idea to host "no-cd crack's" and so on with the internal webserver, but it might be a good idea to have them in a hidden share somewhere on the network if you know what I mean :)

Personally I think something like a rotation of the following games (2hrs on, 2hrs off) such as this would be a good idea and work well at the LAN :

CS:S
BF2
COD2
DOTA
Q4
C&C Zero Hour
Warcraft 3
Q3 Freeze Tag (FTW!!!!!)
..........

I for one am up for another LAN at LANSE.co.uk, and as mentioned to Ty, I think February would be as soon a LAN as is necessary due to Xmas/New Year etc..

I don't want the 5punkers to feel we didnt enjoy ourselves or the way it was ran, as everything was really good, just that there was room for improvement, and the fact that it was the first ever LAN party for a lot of us contributed a bit to that to be honest.

Here's looking forward to the next one, and my only suggestion to Ty is to do a similar post to the recent one with all the details in one place to make things a hell of a lot easier to see and make sense of.

Also, would it be a good idea to have some sort of webpage with all the details on LANSE.CO.UK for others to know exactly what to expect when they get there.

Also, the lanse map for CS:S was fucking amazing, and with your permission (and Berk's of course) could we host it on our public server?
