5PUNK FOR THE WIN!

Post by fabyak »

Image

Sadly Friz could not be in the pic as he had to dash off, but the remaining 3 5punkateers stand proudly next to their enormous erection sorry, I couldn't resist. From the top down they are: Fabyak (also known as me), Feafalas (also known as Amblin), and Teh Bomber (also known as Bomberesque)

THE POS IS UP!

SO it is now done???

Sorry I couldn't be there, but some of us had to go to work this morning. Would it be possible to get some bookmarks this evening so I can start moving the Apoc down?

And how was the trip? No gankers?

Mate

salty sea tales will be told about this venture for ooooh, at least a week.

We logged on, all bleary eyed like this morning at 6am :faint: . My wife was trying to talk to me :ignore: but eventually gave up and left for work. Fea, Friz and Yak gave me a quick intor to instas (/me is der noob) and we set off at about 6.30. Can't remember the ststem names, but about 3 jumps in and fea is peeking into the next system ...

Slight paraphrasing

Fea; "Gate campers; you lot get to the safespot and I'll hold off this lot"

in this case "this lot" included at least one other Raven  and a sky full of drones. We made it to the safe spot but no Fea...

Fea; "fuckfuckfuck"
The rest of us; "oh, no"
Fea; 'it's dying time"
The rest of us; "you got stabs?"
Fea; "only one"
The rest of us; "ohfuckohfuckohfuck"   :faint:

Fea came storming into the safe spot trailing fire (well, maybe) :boogie: :boogie: :excited: :w00t: and with nearly half his armour down :shock: (feel free to exaggerate this with the telling, until; only 10 structure HP were left) :w00t: and we then discovered the following;

Fea is a pretty good fighter for a care bear :likesitall: :ninja: :ahoy:
Fea wasn't packing an armour repairer
None of the rest of us was carrying a gang assist armour repairer

We pondered the rest of the journey with our only combat capable ship wounded

Yak then tought it would be funny to pretend he'd forgoten the POS. Fea showed him that an indy should not piss off a BS, even on 1/2 armour. :P :x :P

We sauntered on, with Friz and Fea taking point thought the gates, yak hauling the main load and me trundling along learning how to use instas as we went. :ninja: :pie: :ninja:

narf, There was a lot of "clear" and "go go go" but the rest of the trip went pretty quetly. Once in 0.0, we bumped into only a handfull of pilots and 1/2 of them were ISS. A couple of mean looking NPC gate camps but none of them engaged. Must have been scared. :P

Finally we arrived at our new home and began setting up. All is now anchored, or at least will be once Yak gets the last piece in place, about 2 mins, then we just need ... errr ... ammo for the guns
:ahoy: :ahoy: :ahoy:

[edit] I think there's a full set of instas (both ways) at the corp offices on Berta, coutesy of the Fabyak

Awesome.

I'll be on ASAP tonight, can someone leave instas in the hangar at that new station, whatever it's called, and I'll come on down.

Pfffft

Let me know the details of the ammo we need and I'll see if I can pick some up before I come down.

This :above:

Great post Bomber! A few things to add:

1. I did the whole thing without breakfast, coffee or :pie: .

2. I'm glad I did the whole thing without because I may well have seen it again rather sooner than nature intended.

3. I have a few screen caps from when we first arrived in our new home which I'll post tonight.

4. I still can't believe I got up at 0530 and then proceeded to cack my pants for an hour and a half over a frickin computer game ffs.

Finally, in good military fashion, we always produce some lessons learned after every operation. Here are a ten:

1. Learn how to use instas before embarking on a high risk forray into 0.0 space.

2. If you have instas, use them (ahem!)

3. Badgers can tank. FTW!

4. WCS rock. We all know that already though.

5. A Badger with a Cloak is not a Stealth Bummer and therefore can not warp whilst cloaked.

6. Don't make bad jokes to nervous bs pilots with only 50% armour.

7. Between gate instas need to be between the gates, not by the nearest in-system Maccy D's or Little Chef.

8. More judicious use of TS would be good. Especially so we can all shout CLEAR! and GO GO GO! in a suitably US Marine like fashion. This is important.

9. A quick 'ISS Friendly? o/' replied with 'o/' appears to be accepted means of IFF in Local Chat (that's smiley sp33k for a hand in the air I think).

10. Pack plenty of bog roll when doing early morning high risk runs in 0.0 after a heavy night out with plenty of curry and bear. ;)

:cheese: FTW!

Right then. I take you onlined the tower? So it's consuming fuel.

You'd best get mining ;) (and I dare say you can, given that your tank survived :))

Also, fea. Can you dump up a bit more detail about the fight. I'm curious as to how well you beat his head in.

BTW: A question: Do we have to set the POS password on our ships, and if so is it the normal one or something else?

Fea tells me it's set up for the Alliance so any ISS can enter without using a pwd

Fair enough. I'll bring the apoc down later and leave it there so I can have something to go ratting in. An idea as well: would it be feasible to buy a bs or bc for the corp and put a load of cap transfer arrays on it to help with onlining modules? I know we may have a problem without one as it takes about 4-5mins just for me to online one gun on the apoc.

Sounds like a job for your friendly EW pilot with all the skillzorz for transferring teh power...this is actually just about doable in a Badger 2 or a blackbird at a push. But I'd happily accept a bs or bc from the corp :P

interesting...you use different torps in the launchers.

wouldn't it be better to carry different kinds of torps, and swap them out as needed? And nice one on the tanking. You've got some nice missile skills there also, judging from the damage.
