I have a dream...

Post by FatherJack »

Inspired by Mr J's epic dream, which contained many game-related elements, here's a game.

You post elements of dreams you've had, real, embellished or entirely fictitious if you want which demonstrate you may have played a particular game too much, and we have to guess what the game was.

Can range from the obvious:
I was stealing some cars, when my cousin rang and asked if I wanted to go bowling.

To a small element of a particular game:
I was playing cards and these women kept bothering me for sex, but I kept saying I was married.

Or the perhaps cryptic, be that an obscure game or an abtruse dream:
I didn't like my family so I killed them all and made a new one.

I pick pocket everyone I meet. I break into houses at night and steal the shit out of everything.

I fear Xfire may give me away.

FJ:

GTA4
Don't know
The Sims?

Roman:
Oblivion

I once played a game so much I dreamt about little men wandering around a very angular hilly landscape. I also dreamt I was on a special horses mission on a ship.

FJ's second is red dead redemption I think, and Dog Pants' are dwarf fortress and cod 4. I think.

I'll quote from my dream earlier as I realised I've done this in a game before, but it's a little bit obscure.
I wrote:Then, for some reason, the rich assholes decided to kill everyone in the town I was in, and they were organizing pogroms to kill all the citizens. I would have none of that, so I went into my house (which was still the same house) and started boarding up the windows so they couldn't get in. I was always short of boarding material though and they kept getting in, and I kept respawning (which was a power I apparently had) to try it all over again.

Yes, although wasn't actually a real dream

Yes. In my dream I was in the situation, but then thought "Hang on, I'm not John Marston, why am I turning them down?"
Dog Pants wrote:The Sims?
Actually, yes. Could have applied to many games, but that (Sims2) was the one I dreamed about.

That was my first thought when I read the dream, but then I thought it could have been L4D. Both are very Night of the Living Dead in parts. I respawn in my dreams, too. Takes away the fear of dying, thus avoids nightmares.

There's another I just remembered, but I'm going to have to think extremely hard to remember any others.

I'm sitting at a camp fire talking to a woman. She's wearing an extremely low cut purple dress with a hood attached, though she's not put on the hood. Her left shoulder is adorned with some kind of black feather pauldron and she has yellow eyes.
In the dream we're talking about normal bog standard stuff, or at least that's how I remember it.

Dragon Age: Origins?

By the way, my first one (both actual dreams) wasn't DF. It's a dream I had when I was about 12, and the first time I though "hmm, maybe I've been playing this game too much".

For some reason, seeing that picture suddenly made me think of Micro Machines. I used to play that game a lot.

There's a recent version on the DS, but it's just not the same.
