Beardbash (aka Brum Bash 6.5) Planning

Post by Grimmie »

Okay, so I orignially thought that Beardbash would turn out to be a quiet affair where the beardie-weirdies get together over a weekend to duke it out over many-sided-dice.

However, given the success of beard times at Brum Bash VI, I'm guessing that this event will need something more in the ways of planning.

Mes Parents are likely to toddle off one weekend in October, leaving Maison De La Grim free for some 48 (or 72) hours.
They've requested that I don't have as many people over (presumably because clean-up took about a week) so places will be limited.
I'm gonna be controversial* and say that those currently in a game in the Beards forum are going to get priority tickets.

GMs
* Dog Pants
* Joose
* HereComesPete

Players
* Roman Totale
* TheShuttingDowns
* Fabyak
* Deject
* TezzRexx
* Punkchuck
* Baliame

I realise also that we have some new people joining the Shadowrun games.
Remind me if I've forgotten anyone.

New Players
* Dr Kitteny Berk
* Pnut
* Shada
* Mr Johnson

Alas, this takes us to a group of 14, which is already the average size of a full-blown Brum Bash, and I don't think I'll be able to justify that many people for a single (or extended) weekend. But, that's how it stands thusfar, these people have priority with GM's obviously the most integral part of the whole experience.

That said, if you're interested, please make your interest known here.
Also, any suggestions as to how we work said Beardbash would be mightily appreciated. That includes feeding troops, what campaigns we run (especially as we have a growing repertoire of games now), and how the days are structured.

Ta!

*Probably not that controversial

It's a bit too early to tell, I'll be starting a course in September so I'm not sure how much time I'll have, but I'll gladly let anyone else on the list go before me.

Oh and if you could justify it you're welcome to use my house for your beard bashage, as it would be fairly quiet my parents wouldn't mind a bunch of nerds sitting behind a table throwing dice at each other.
But yeah, it's in Belgium and all...

I said earlier that i'd like to get in on some beardy fun, but considering i'm such a fresh-faced newcomer to it all, put me at the back of the que.

I was talking to Jose after the last Bash, and he mentioned tht there was a point in the morning when not much was happening and few beardies were awake.

The suggestion was made of a 750 point Warhammer 40k tournament to fill the time between drinkage and more beardage.

Either way, depending on the weekend in October, I'd be up for a bash.

I got a few Necrons :/

Maybe we could divide squads up between a group of players and do a massive team-game?

I've got a 900ish point Imperial Guard set I've never used. In fact, I was looking towards selling them due to the move.

I could potentially make the beardbash. It'll depend on other potential bashage, and normal RL stuff, naturally.

Should I be able to make it, rather than run SLA and disrupt my campaign I'd hope to write an exhibition game that existing characters can join in on. Probably along the lines of the aforementioned 'Christmas dungeon' idea.

Stick me at the back of the list, so if one of the reserve reserves drops out, i might be able to go. If i've still got a job that is.

And i may even give SLA a go again!

I should be free if theres room and I promise to stay off the cider. I`d be up for some 40k too but have no army and not played in about 15 years, I think the rule book I have is one of the first versions they did

I also had that. I'm not actually sure where it went.

Seeing as only six people think they can probably make it, and only one GM, I might postpone this till either.

a. Spring 2011
