Yeah, it's pretty good.
As I was saying to pnut though, much of the music I thought "Ooh, that'll be good" is actually on Spotify. It means I have to sit down tomorrow and sort out my mp3 collection, if only so I have fewer directories to navigate in-game.

I've been having fun with this game. I think I'm on the 10th Elite rank. Best song I've played so far was Master of Puppets on the S&M album, got me 2.7~mil. Been playing a lot of Daft Punk, the Alive 07 album is a pain, but aerodynamic/one more time is too much fun not too play.

It's nifty that if you are friends on steam you get real time updates while you are playing. I saw Grimmie playing some earlier and unbeknownst to him (or maybe he saw) challenged him to some Muse. Too bad it doesn't work with the 5punk group. :x

 I saw, I saw, you utter bastard.
Weird how at points you think the game is going to throw awesome bosses at you, it doesn't, and instead slows down.
Good game though, certainly worth the fiver it's being sold for, at big dramatic moments seeing your ship burst into whopping great beams of streaming light and explosions is just brilliant.

Just got a wireless 360 controller and I must say I like it a lot more then keyboard and mouse. Can't do cool flips around the crosshairs as there are none. One stick moves you, the other turns and fires at the same time. Makes for awesome psychedelic Death Blossom kill all little ships on the screen happy fun teim.

Getting some decent scores now and almost made 10 minutes in Survival Mode playing the beginning of the Discovery cd. Does it say anywhere that survival mode is harder then normal, cause it sure seems that way to me.

I've been using my 360 pad too. My brain stops if I think about the controls during the game though.

Seems to build enemies and rocks even faster than hardcore mode to me. I had a go last night and then foolishly looked down at the rss feed, I died three times in less than thirty seconds.

It's worse than blinking in burnout when you're in one of the made of paper super cars.

This is pretty cool, but I found myself blind for quite large chunks due to the music I like :(

I've been doing good using the Psalm 69 cd, I'll have to see if I can't sweep that one. I got my 20min one using The Dethalbum by Dethklok. Getting pretty good at the game now too, can play pretty much anything I've tried on Insane. Daft Punk is still a pain, though I was in the top 300 last night and #257 now for Highest total score.

As for the min without firing, that's easy. Just move around for the 1st minute of the song and let the screen fill before powerbombing everyone to dust. I'll usually build up a 40~50x multiplier before firing a single shot. Helps get the score off to a good start. It gets a bit easier at elite rank when you start off with beat hazard.

Steam wrote:Updates to Beat Hazard have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:
Added Low Visual Intensity Option to Difficulty Select Screen
Added Windowed and Screen Rez Options to Options Screen
Added File Browser Nav keys: Page Up/Down, Home/End, and Backspace to go back a folder
Added File Browser Nav buttons for game pad: Bumper buttons to page up and down, X to go back a folder
Fixed File Browser Freeze
Tags are now not loaded automatically for folders with more than 50 files
The Low Visual Intensity option is neat. It makes a big difference when you can actually see what's going on, I played a song on insane with it off and made it half way through, played with it on and finished the song will all my lives, tried the song a 3rd time with the visuals at 100% and made it about half way again.

Other nifty thing that's not listed there and I never noticed it before, but when you respawn or drop a power bomb you get a shield around your ship, and now your ship (at least on my pc) gets like a 3-D red/blue flashy color scheme while you are in the shield.

I need to stop playing, I'm up to #55 for total score.

i just used up my trial for this, when i got to my last song i thought id do something silly so i tried a 44 minute long happy hardcore track, the speech intro was just a few asteroids, then the buildup came in and in the split second something went louder a boss apeared and everything went mellow again for a second so i could shoot, and then everything started and another boss apeared allong with a load of enemies and asteroids.

i lasted 3% of the song

I really need to stop playing this, I can feel bits of my brain shutting down and i dont think they are going work again. On the plus side I managed to score 10 mil in a under 3 minute song :w00t:
