I get three weeks and bank holidays, but that's a bit better than most.

If I did get a chance at a truly amazing holiday I would probably gamble a bit on my job because I can get another job (even if it's shit) but I may not get another chance at the holiday.

I would imagine something like stepping into an episode of cheers, but with more stabbing and lots of dirt.

As for a hollyday, I could do that. Probably. But I have no idea how the finances are at this moment in time given I've just got into my flat. If you give me dates I shall look at it and stuff. :likesitall:

Consider me jealous as well. I can neither afford a trip, nor could I justify it with Mrs. Johnson.
On the other hand, I have no real desire to go to NY, although I'd probably enjoy it a lot more if it was with 5punkers.

You're going on a holiday with people from the internet - what more justification could she need/want?

I can see the headlines now shortly after you arrive:

"Mysterious happenings in New York as a massive 1000 foot tall magenta penis appears on the Empire State Building overnight"

"Statue of Liberty's Torch stolen! Replaced by giant dildo. Locals awed by it's splendor and ethereal pink glow at night"

"New religion springs into the public's eye from underground movement, the group claim a mysterious despot only known as RO-BO will be the harbringer of the apocalypse!

On unrelated news, kitten sales rocket."

Actually it's the fact that I promised to take her somewhere, but instead went away with other people. I'm still up for a 5punky trip when I have more money though.

If New York turns out to be too expensive, I can most definitely recommend Barcelona for a long weekend city break. Been twice and I absolutely love it. There's the obvious sights to see such as the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, but the city has a really nice feel to it. I've never been to any of the nightclubs there, but they're supposed to be great, but even just going to normal bars in the evening is really nice. I really like the way that everything is open until relatively late at night compared to here.

Failing that, my usual trick is to look at the destination map from your local airport, and take your pick.

This just popped up on my radar... would be most interesting if not a bit risky... though I doubt the radiation would get through our alcohol shield...

Yeah, I've done lots of research on the Chernobyl/Pritpryat tours, I plan to do them some day.
