Well I've 'Werded to Deject's mother' for now. I've only played it briefly when I was very tired, but there are a few things you notice...
1) Character models blend into the background a lot better - it makes it harder to spot people as there isn't as big a pixel glitch.
2) the health system - crazy, may take some getting used to but I don't really see how it can work in multiplayer.
3) no 'mein pants are cold!' in German voice commands (a horrific oversight I feel)
4) it doesn't feel as 'real' as CoD:UO - you get an indicator telling you where a grenade has been thrown near you; cross hairs turn red when you look at an enemy and 'highlight' when you hit something. I'm not a fan of this myself. The only indication I want that I've hit something is a cloud of blood.
5)
Like I say, will take some gettting used to and I'm sure they'll be tweaking things, but I reckon it will be really good.

Did it mysteriously appear minutes after the depot closed?Dog Pants wrote:I now have a card saying I have a package waiting for me at the depot. I stuck it in my CD drive, but it didn't install COD.
I looked at it in pc world today but was not going to pay £35 for it. I'm waiting for everyone to give me their verdict so I know whether it's worth ordering or not

hi all
not tried the multiplayer mode, but im loving the singleplayer, especially the tank missions, just got the two yank parts of the game to do now
Played my first game last night and I have to say I thought it was ace:
1) The health system works fine, if not better. I never payed much attention to it anyway in COD:UO, so it means if I win a firefight I'm not at a disadvantage for being hit in the next one.
2) The hopping over walls and windows thing is great. No more pixel-accurate bunny-hopping, and there's so many windows now that it's easy to dash from building to building.
3) The maps are a lot better.
4) There are now shotguns.
All of which combine to allow me to go on shotgun killing-sprees.
I was worried about losing some of the things from COD:UO that I loved, but I can still ninja climb and there is at least one bath to sit in.
The only bad things (which didn't particularly bother me) were the lag when smoke grenades were used and the lack of 'nade cookage.

I think I'm going to lose my big headed status as one of the top COD players
