As for Alistair I quite like him but fucked up my chances with him as I brought the demon kid mission to a bad end, and he didn't like that very much.
I also started the game off wrong, making him a sword and shield fighter, which is what my main char is doing. Now I'm using shale and am a flaming lesbian. that's how the world works.
EDIT: Am I the only one who seemingly has trouble doing sidequests? Some of them really leave you without much of a clue as to what you're supposed to do next.
EDIT EDIT: removed blood mage thing as it's for arcane warrior, not blood mage.

That's what I was thinking, just never got the option. Maybe this time through.buzzmong wrote:
I might be wrong but Redcliffe seems a likely place due to a certain character who is behind bars.
As for sidequests. Most of them are a pain to figure out what you are supposed to do, but in reality just keep moving ahead in the story and you will find everything in time. Alot of them just require you to move from place to place on the world map for a random encounter.
I've only struggled working out what to do in a couple of quests, mostly dwarf related. If you mean the Chantry/Mage/Mercenary optional quests though I don't knonw, I've not been doing them (sticking to my character who is trying to stop the blight rather than run errands). Gives me something to do next time round.
Given that I'm very likely to play this through again, simply because the game lends itself so well to a second attempt, I'm quite interested to know what people consider the 'ultimate' in each class/spec.
Could be a bit spoilery though, so maybe give it while till people have played through their first time (I'm nearly done, I think, seems there's pretty end game shit going down right about now)
