While I agree with you I've found that making that kind of statement akin being the man in the middle of the angry mob, hunting Frankenstein's monster, suddenly declaring: "So the monster has made some mistakes, but he hasn't done anything really bad. Why don't we give him the benefit of the doubt?"cashy wrote:True, it's a bitch that the days of being killed by a falling piano are over, which is a shame, but other than the whole server/mod fiasco the entire internet generally seem to be bitching about everything that's different in the game. Give po' man a chance is all I'm saying, could still be a great game. Could also be utter shit, but then as is life.

MW2 isn't just a port, guys. It has exclusive PC features like- and I quote- "graphics options" and "mouse support".

Seriously, the whole thing is built on a P2P architecture? It's going to eat bandwidth like a bitch, and even though it solves the problem with the listen servers and laggy hosts, it's a weak attempt at damage mitigation. The host not getting the host advantage I'd say is simply fair.
The good thing though is that it features LAN play. Which probably means we can still hamandcheese the shit out of the game.

Yeah, kind of the point. Granted some people will get shafted as a side effect of all this, but it's a computer game for Christs sake. I've got £5 that says everyone who has boycotted the game here still buys it or at least downloads it. Also going to Amsterdam in the morning so figure I'm safe to have an opinion.spoodie wrote: While I agree with you I've found that making that kind of statement akin being the man in the middle of the angry mob, hunting Frankenstein's monster, suddenly declaring: "So the monster has made some mistakes, but he hasn't done anything really bad. P.S. Gears of War is a literary masterpiece *runs*.

Gears of war just reminded me a bit much of UT, it makes sense given the engine use, but they didn't have to make huge bulky armour did they? Raam was a bit piss mind, the berserker are harder to kill unless you run away to outside.
I'm going to sweep MW2 for the SP, but I'll not pay them all the money they want for a ten hour campaign.

I don't think I'll pay for MW2 until they patch in dedicated servers and all the expected PC mod cons, such as the fucking console and a non arbitary player limit.
I may sweep it, but I'm sure as hell not putting my money in support of IW until they find their arses and fix what wasn't broken in the first place.
Bubbles, while we might be able to hamandcheese it for some sort of 5punky "LAN" play, it's not the point is it? (although obviously if we've all got swept copies it'll happen).
