Well, Jumpgate is noisiest at the moment. I read an article last week that roughly described large group PvE engagements, with different classes of ship performing roles that indirectly supported the others. If they make that open, like WAR's public quests, and attractive enough to always have a decent amount of people on them, then that alone could carry the game for a while. I get the feeling they're still tweaking for the beta, and hopefully they're holding off until it plays well. Lets face it, an MMO beta is pretty much a demo nowdays.

Champions is in closed beta, and by all accounts is very good. PCG reported some stuff on designing your nemesis, and apparently this adds a nice, personal touch. Both PCG and PCZ expressed concern about the instances, but that's what betas are for.

There's been a tiny bit on TSW, touting a system that allows you to contribute to a group regardless of level, or at least that's how I interpreted it. Seems to be more about puzzles than fighting, which might be good.

Yeah, that's a trimmed down version of an article I read elsewhere. I can't decide if it's just spiel, or if they're doing their best to release a finished product after seeing the fate of AoC, and to a lesser extent WAR. I hope it's the latter.

I've got a friend in beta. From what he's been saying, it's the latter.

If I remeber right. first phase of closed beta is starting on the 26th of july. Invites started going out tonight

Also, the work the developers have been doing on JGE, more polish wouldn't have hurt, but they've re-designed alot of the industry stuff so that players now control all the production in-game, but with no death penality in-game this is going to have amusing conquences for the player driven market that's in there as well. While I don't think every mmo needs a severe death penality, if your going to have the end-game revolve around fighting each other for high end resources via area control, and then no means of removing the production that results from this control, it's going to make fighting for the space a bit pointless when there's going to end-up being large quantities of end-game stuff available on markets.

Global agenda looks like fun. COH without the turn based stuff.

Tabula Rasa wasn't bad, it just wasn't great either :(

GA looks good fun. TF2 crossed with tribes and something to do with persistant maps which reminds me of planetside. Given it's just starting beta though, I'm not going to start holding my breath yet for an awesome game. Too many MMOs these days go into closed betas holding lots of promise, and then don't really deliver post-launch :(

I'll do that.

I've also pinged an email to the support email supplied regarding a wholesale invite to the beta stages. Possibly I'll get no answer at all but it's worth a go because to me this looks like it could be immensely silly and as such an excellent game.

Fingers crossed!
