If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Registry exporting

Post by HereComesPete »

Werd. Anyone have much experience of erunt or similar programs? I've used regedit on occasion but it's rather hit and miss on what it saves, and it doesn't touch the security hive at all in a backup.

Importing a registry merges the data instead of over writing it which is fine for a freshly installed o/s but I'm looking for a program that will help me back up my ageing xp install, data merge in this instance would just create a big shitty mess.

And system restore is random and shitty.

Why don't you just image the c drive instead? It'll be a good backup then, and you can then port the image round to other hdd's and write when you need to.
