Bit-tech has it outlined very well, it's much easier to find vurnelabilities in Firefox due to it being open source, and therefore Firefox devs probably fix the serious ones first, while I'd bet that the 31 public IE security holes are there since 1.0, and are quite serious ones as well.

Yes, but why does it keep crashing?
It started doing it way before I installed any add-ons...

I know Deject cited a probable cause once, but I can't find the thread any more...

Also, so many more people use IE that hackers are more likely to go for that and ignore FF.

Clean all trace of it off your pc with something like ccleaner.

Look for a list of known programs that spack it up, like anti-vir stuff that offers automajic homepage hijack protection and bits of IE lying about.

If you find any turn it all off and let a fresh install of FF do it itself.

Get your trusted add-ons back and curse the fact that you forgot to save/write down all your passwords or save a profile.

Passwords are stored in key3.db and signons.sqlite (or similar, depending on version). Do backup your profile folder (Run: "%APPDATA%/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/"), but for best results use it to cherrypick items to put in a fresh profile.

Well, professionals anyway. Script kiddies probably exploit easy-to-use minor flaws to inflate their e-penises.

Apparently the new beta (3.5b4) arrives next week, which may well be worth waiting for. Depending on your extensions, of course.

Passwords should also be kept in Keepass, or the like.

:above:

or in your mind, or on a piece of paper (I know, someone could just walk away with it, but a lot of the time, that's much less likely than some software hole fucking you over)
