Nvidia's Ion Platform

Post by News Reader »

Nvidia's Ion could stretch Intel's limited Atom and make it fast enough to cope with HD playback and basic gaming. Can it actually play a Blu-ray movie? Does a better IGP actually make a difference or is the Atom core just too limiting? Simply: Is it worth Ionising an Atom?

Looks a lot of fun as a meeja box.

Blimeh. I would happily buy a box like that to sit by a tv and do meeja stuff. A dual core atom to help with hd video would be good too. I think nvidia should sell that box, or something very similar. Can't see why they wouldn't unless they're gearing up a small screen to go with it to attack the netbook market.
