if you press v, you can select from a variety of phrases in different contexts.
i find this takes too much time and concentration though, so i just turn auto-taunt on in the options, and whenever you kill someone it throws a taunt. and if you have the badgers voice pack on, that is fun.
I've been using my headset a lot more recently though.

I've been on a fair few teams where the team has actually gelled together and co-operted.
And when it happens - you can pretty much defend an objective indefinately.
I.e on the grandcanyon and hellbenderrece levels - (not standard - but very popular assault maps)
defending the final objective is great when you have two people int he goliath. one taking down enemies witht he tank shells. and one taking down inbound rockets/redeemers/avrils with the minigun turret.
one or two people linking to the tank to heal it, and the remainder of the team guarding the archway from all manner of enemies.
the only way enemies will get through is if you fuck up.
it's also really satisfying when everyone works together.

Since when?
I used the ones to control the bots in SP, mainly "Cover Me", "Defend the Base" and "Get our flag back" and found to my amazement that they worked just fine, especially "Cover Me" as I was used to that meaning "Let them kill me and nick the flag yourself". I don't think I'd have been able to complete the capture maps without them.
The bots were largely obedient as well, which is more than I can say for CS bots (using keyboard radio commands) - how DARE they refuse my orders?
Their insistence on going and killing all the terrorists before I could rescue the hostages made some of the CZ objectives almost impossible - I think I ended up slaughtering them into compliance:
"Wait here"
"No, sir"..."aaaaaargh"
The CS:S bots are about the same, not that there's any reason to use them anymore.

I do use the headset much more, as you can just talk normally and I had to really shout into the (old) microphone and I did feel a bit of a spaz.electrolaze wrote:I didn't want to use a microphone or anything, as i find that shouting "alpha, cover me" at the computer would probably make me look like a twat.newg wrote:I've been using my headset a lot more recently though.
