Bloody Jedi - do gooding, emotionally crippled hippies! They remind me of that twat, Superman.

Er, yeah - I'll probably end up giving it a go too.

You mean Iridonian aka Zabrak deej, or are you thinking of Ithorians, the hammerheads ?

It'll be a shame if they do down the Jedi route, but ah well.

Galaxies was quite good before the killing blow, people actually formed proper garrisons and even divisions of Stormtroopers (and their rebel equiv), lots of RP on that game, especially as the classes made it really easy to do so.

I quite like the Jedi, they're like monks with swords.

Well, actually they are monks with swords.

Thing that always worried me about the Jedi is that they treated things like love etc as a big no no. Never understood how they managed to be so appealing to so many people with that sort of joyless, repressed thing they've got going on.

That's not true. As I mentioned last time this came up, I ran a game of the tabletop RPG for years in the setting and I can't remember Jedi ever being involved until one player actively sought out Luke Skywalker. There's so much more scope, and sadly I'm expecting it all to get pushed aside for some boring Jedi storyline.

:above: this.

I had a Twi'lek spy type person. I think he may have been called Dave, in a "my name is hard to pronounce, so just call me Dave" sense.

I was about 10, ok?

There's lots of scope, actually out of the numerous books I've read, the X-Wing series is quite notable, mostly because once you get past the first set, there's no Jedi involved at all, just lots of various fighting in ships or on the ground, and the Wraith Squadron books were sublime.

The universe is quite fleshed out, it just so happens that all the films focussed on horse users, and so 99% of people expect lightsabers.

Again, Galaxies was good as for the first year or 18 months there were only a handfull of player Jedi, before people found out how to do it (and it got made easier iirc), as you *had* to be something else in the first place regardless, it was a special bonus class.
