If that's it on ultra high graphics, I will be a very happy man, but I'm suspecting it's pre-rendered

It's in game graphics hulky. If you go watch the first video you'll see the shiny ness more if you focus on the marines.

While I do suspect it's somewhat high settings, that's definitely an ingame shot.

the little un's are about 1/2 man sized on the board. The snake thing is a bit taller than a space marine, most of the other units should be as big as tanks. Whether they stick to this remains to be seen, but the size of the 3d model in that first piccy looks promising.

Thought you might like to know there's an extra 20 seconds worth of footage added on to their latest cinematic ;)

Internet can't decide if that's a lictor, a hive tyrant or a carniflex. Personilly, I though lictor the moment I saw it

Fix'd.

And if you mean the gribbly in the extra movie bit, I say lictor. It de-cloaks, it has tentacle face and it has overhead stabbity claws. Internet is speculating unneccesarily.

That looks awesome. Not sure I like the idea of choosing your leader though.

You can also get on the Beta by preordering DOWII.
Also, if you already have Soulstorm, but not as part of steam, you can add it via the CD key and get the Beta.

I forgot about this. PCG gave DoW2 82% on account of it scrapping the traditional RTS base building, tank spamming structure and going for a very small scale almost RPG approach. This game isn't like DoW. However, I think it's a great thing because it hopefully opens up the way for a 40k, squad based MMONG.

Apparently the multiplayer still has that (albeit not as good as the original's). Plus, you can play as Tyranids.

I don't know how much information there is about the units so, spoiler alert ;)
Spoiler:
As Space Marines, you choose your Chapter, then Commander before you join a game. Commander choices are horse Commander (offensive) Apothacary (Healing) Techmarine (Defensive)

Coulour Scheme's arn't correct :(

When you start the game as a horse Commander, you start with a HQ (This is the only building you have) a Heavy Bolter turret, your horse Commander and a scout squad.

The resources are Power (Increased by capturing Power Nodes, which you can upgrade to have Plasma Generators on the Point aswell) Requistion (Increased by capturing Requisition Points)

Your first selection option for unit building is a Tactical Squad, Heavy Bolter Devastator Squad and Assault Squad.

More things which are very incorrect about Space Wolves (Which is what I've been playing as)

When you upgrade your base to level 2, you gain Plasma Cannon Devastator Squads, Dreadnaught's and Razorback's (Which can transport 1 Squad)

Level 3 gives you access to Predator's.

All Squad's a 3 men, which is very much against the Codex Astartes :/ as Squads should be 5 or 10men generall.

Scout Tactical and Assault Squads can be upgraded to have a sgt, so making them 4man Squad.

With your power bar (Increased by killing things), you can use it for Orbital Bombardment, a Tactical Marine Drop Pod, Deepstrike of Terminators or Assault Terminators and a Power Up of damage for a squad. - These Powers vary between type of commander your playing.
