Wireless dongles

If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Wireless dongles

Post by MIkkyo »

I'm after a new wireless dongle for my Fair Wench's PC. Its a tad too far from the router to use any of my ethernet cables so I'm going to settle for a wireless dongle thing. The one we have just now seems to drop connection all the time and is generally shit, does anyone know of any decent ones?

I used a Belkin one until I got a laptop with wireless built in. Never had any issues with it.

I've got a 3com one that came with my old 3com router. I've never got it to connect without the special software though, so I wouldn't recommend it.
You could try some signal boosting techniques if you've got a couple of colanders and a USB extension cord.
My router is in the attic and signal downstairs is greatly improved when I put the router under my metal shelves.
