EVE is ... SpecialJoose wrote:I absolutely agree here, but to be fair, I dont think EVE would work if it wasnt like that. Make EVE opt in pvp and suddenly the whole thing stops working: corps could move stuff wherever they wanted by just not turning on pvp, so corp warfare would go completely out the window, which is EVE's biggest selling point.
I think this is actually one of the main reasons why a lot of 5punkers don't like EVE. We just are not serious PvP people.
This is true, Eve is a great game because of the PvP mechanics. It's free flowing and a very good simulation of a real world (within the confines of the setting) environment. However, I want something more casual for the same reasons Roman said. I don't want to have to devote large chunks of my already limited spare time to desperately trying to keep up with those who play the game far more, and who will gank me everywhere I go because they can. Nothing so far offers this in a space game.Joose wrote:

/waits for the inevitable and tired "omg spacechess" jokes.
I suppose this is Hehulk's point; if you like PvP then you're better off with Eve. If you don't like PvP then keep your fingers crossed for Jumpgate.
