I'm still undecided, as it seems like there are three separate games there.
1. the creating life game, with all the cells and stuff
2. you own creatures colonising a planet, building cities and warring
3. the space bit
If they all linked together so that the way your creatures turned out actually differed depending on how you did the first bit, and then the space bit and the way the spaceships look was an extension of how you designed your planet - it could be absorbing and infinitely replayable.
I just worry because it looks like you edit your creatures manually, with no regard to how the cells grew - and all the spaceships look kind of the same.
Even so, game 2 on its own as the meat is interesting enough - an RTS but with the emotional attachment of denizens you've designed yourself.

this^ im mainly interested in just having a game that does something different, not just a generic fps with a bunch of gimicky game mechanics so developers can say its something thats never been done beforeDog Pants wrote:I've been avoiding a lot of the hype, but the Creature Creator has got my interest, and to be honest I'm just looking forward to something that isn't an FPS.

Depends how many planets the civilisation has settled on. Like you they can also colonise other planets in the system/galaxy.Hehulk wrote:I'm hoping it's not like other games where you nuke half his shit to hell, then he just sits there failing to rebuild.
Will Wright demonstrated an attack on a city, closely followed by a message from their leader saying they were gonna retaliate from one of their other planets :D

I may have just pre-ordered the Galatic Edition from Game. Whoops!
They seem to be the only UK retailer with the GE version though.

Tempted to pre-order Spore.
The Galactic edition looks poop though, the only thing that looks worth while is the "Premium 100-page Galactic Handbook" which I don't think I could justify spending an extra £15 on.
Also, the box art looks very nice on the normal edition, rather then plain white background with Spore logo on the S.E.

I'll get it from the EA store so I get my money back on the Creature Creator even though it's probably more expensive and evil because of the extra you have to pay to actually keep the fucking game that you fucking paid for.
Probably the fastest way to get, I figured. Can't seem to find the page that has the code you put in to reclaim the Creature Creator money, though - sure I saw it once.
