Mission Boats

Post by friznit »

I've not run any missions since I first slapped a T2 launcher on my raven, which was a while back now. Is the CNR still the de facto mission boat? If you had a choice of any ship to run missions, which would you choose and how would you fit it?

CNRs probably the easiest, just for the fire and forget factor, but turret boats flown properly are faster. Tanked hyperion should do pretty well.

Domi tanks like a mother, hyp kills 3x times faster then the domi but has to since the tank is not as strong as the domi's. I'll let you know about a kronos once I get the last 300mil I need to have Jack build one from the bpc I own.

Ishtar rocks for lvl 4s, 2 shield recharge rigs, 5 shield power relay IIs in the lows, 4 large t2 extenders and an active t2 hardener for your mission of choice (this ship does work best against serp and gurista), then add a full load of t2 lights, meds and heavies. I get full room aggro on any serp, gurista or angel mission, launch t2 heavies and go afk for 15 minutes.

Well, I did, haven't logged on apart from skills for ages.

In Irjunen where I was helping Dolly do LvL 4's....I'm able to do most of the 4's solo with my meager 9mil SP in a Raven albeit a tad slow killing. Besides that though...every time I undocked there was a flock a Ravens coming and going from the station...of course its Caldari space though...

Then again, you're prolly asking whats the fastest LvL 4 killing machine is which I am of no help...

I'd forgotten about marauders. narf, your not going to do better than those. They really are Epic Win for lv4s.

its been a while but i still chime in on my cnr but thats just me with all the faction mods, rids and hardwires and sp.

i would personally think a few others are almost the same or better but for the missions with multiple dmg/tank types the cnr is best but i step bak and let hulky or some1 rebut. the key question is what sec lvl system u running missions and if a billion isk ship is worth the risk. if not go with some fancy t2 ship thats worth the loss.

Fix'd ;)

Honestly, there's plenty of folk doing it now adays. I've got a nice list myself of CNRs with 3-4 bil in fittings that I'm organising to suicide gank.

Be fair, when have I ever come gunning for 5punkers?

Even when circumstances have put me directly at war with 5punkorp, I've stayed away from where you guys have operated.

Woops, and on the subject...
CCP Fear, in a recent devblog wrote:In addition, the highly requested feature of removal of insurance in CONCORD related events will be implemented in the near future.
Great, works fine for me with suicide ganking. I don't target stuff that isn't worth 1/2 bil or more anyway so having to account for an extra 60 mil on that phoon hull doesn't bother me.

Noobs who get concordokken in their new BC?

Finally some Caldari loving...but, er wut? Is the new FotM "zomg nano nerf therefore passive tanks are the only way to go" or am I missing something else entirely?
