World of Cthulhucraft

Post by Dog Pants »

Found this, which interested me:
The Murlocs of the Warcraft universe are almost identical to the Deep Ones of Lovecraft's stories. They are one of the primary adversaries encountered in the on-line role-playing game World of Warcraft, and recent updates on the game's website suggest that the Lovecraftian connections will be further explored, with the Murlocs worship of ancient aquatic "gods" being a primary feature. One particular quest involves slaying a murloc-worshipped being by the name of Dagun, the whole questline being strongly Lovecraftian.
One for Wrath of the Itchy Ring do we think?

I remember reading somewhere (other than it was official blizzard werdz, I forget where) that Murlocs were up to something much more sinister than they appeared to be. the Cthulhu references didn't really twig at the time, but it does make sense like that. Whats that a quote from, btw?

Read somewhere that the Murlocs in Itchy Ring would be a faction you could either work for or against.
