Ben Ottewell - solo acoustic tour

Post by Lateralus »

Last night I went to see Ben Ottewell at the Sage. He is the lead singer and song-writer for Gomez, who are one of my favourite bands. He did a 90 minute acoustic set which was fantastic. He opened with Hangover Girl which is a great track from their second album, and most of the songs he played were pretty heavy blues. His version of Get Miles from the first album was awesome; his guitar skills are truly l33t. He has 3 remaining dates at London, Norwich and Sheffield, and I’d highly recommend checking it out if you get the chance.

Sounds like it was a good show. Does he have solo works that one can :sweep:? I loved Gomez's 1st cd, the rest kinda grew on me after a bit.

Terribly sorry old chap, just remembered that I'd never got around to replying. It was an awesome show, but unfortunately he doesn't have any solo works at the moment. However, if you loved their first album, check out this: http://www.gomeztheband.com/gigs/ - a 10th Anniversary tour of their first album! :w00t: :w00t: :excited: :excited:

Oh, and they do have a live CD called Out West which is the only album I don't currently have, but I am about to rectify that.
