Assassins creed PC, is it worth it...

Post by Akiakaiu »

As the title says, I've read our little mini-review but am still left wondering. I don't have any of the new consoles and everyone I know talked about this game when it first came out, but is it worth getting on steam now that they dropped the price down? Since there is no demo available for it I wanted to know if anyone else has given this a go?

I love it lots, but you have to be very tolerant of repetition - every single act is essentially the same. Go to lookout points, do the ridiculous investigation quests (ALTAIR! I have misplaced several of my flags! Please jump around on rooftops and such and grab them all for me.), then kill the target.

It shines in its excellent presentation and very fun free running system, though. I don't know how much it is, but if it's reduced in price it'll probably be worth buying.

I'd say no. On the surface it's all there: it looks amazing, honestly it does. I've not seen anything on any platform that can match the pretty of AC. The first couple of hours are OK, but the quests rapidly get very repetitive.

I bought it on the strength of having played an hour or so on a mates 360 and really thought it might be a winner - unfortunately, that first hour is about as good as it gets.

Console port is ported from a console.

I couldn't get into it due to the horrible ui, the 60 second exit game crap, and the poor controls.

I finished the Xbox360 version when it first came out. Only expect so much and you'll love it...

Yes, it was repetitive in what you needed to do, but the story was compelling and kept you interested. The cutscenes were short and sweet.

The ending sucked but i'm sure it was to lead into AC2?

I never had so much fun assassinating though! Even the guard fights were fun. It was simple and it felt good to lunge and 1shot dagger kill everyone...

:above: Yes, it's a leading to AC2, since it's going to be a trilogy.

DO NOT BUY Jade Raymond's Game! Too expensive for a shitty console port. It's perfectly sweepable.

:above: That. Just sweep it and enjoy, looks amazing, rather shallow, fun kills soon become the same fatality, good and bad, lots of commas, you should probably stop reading, this isn't going anywhere fast, told you.
