I'm hoping to upgrade to an 8800 soonish (not too bothered which one, as long as it's not too expensive) from my 8600gt so before I go buying a brand new one, I was just wondering if anyone has one going that they are upgrading from or don't use anymore, to save a few bob
Thanks

it's worth remembering that nvidia still dominate the high end market, that the 8800GT (the lowest of the 8800s) trounces the 9600s, and that, above all, the 9800 will probably come out at the £400 price point.

I wouldn't say that, the 768MB 8800 GTX/Ultra prices are still pretty high about the same as I paid a year ago for bestest-of-best, it's just that they've found ways to reduce costs with reduced cooling requirements and slightly lesser memorys to bring us the GT, a side effect being that the previously derided GTS range now have the new G92 tech making them an excellent mid-to-high range choice.
so basically from what I can work out, I should get the 8800GT unless I can find some spare monies from under the sofa or something, in which case I should get the G92 8800GTS.
Also, don't get an ATI because they're just a bit too cack.

I'm not being defensive about it pete. KV's card is a pile of crap indeed. Mine is good for the amount I paid (and because it came with many free games).
