I kind of like this. So far I'm enjoying it more than Quake Wars, it's less confusing and feels more tangible. QW always made be feel detached from the game world, if that makes sense. This feels a lot more solid, like the BF games.
Good:
- Shooting rockets at vehicles is good fun, especially if they don't know how to use chaff.
- There's some nice tools that are easily unlocked, sentry guns, various airstrikes, air and ground drones and more I haven't tried yet.
- Looks quite nice.
Bad:
- There doesn't appear to be a ranking system, so no long term rewards.
- <strike>Unlocks reset at the start of each round.</strike> Unlocks are persistent to some degree, maybe until you quit the game or change server.
- Some texture load and other graphical glitches.
- <strike>I've no idea how to make or join a squad.</strike> Press "X", although I've not been in a squad yet.

It's basically another Battlefield type of game. It's on consoles as well so it's slightly more arcady but still has depth. There's lot of vehicles, as you'd expect, but the best thing is the weapons and tools. You can mix the two. Weapons classes included assault, heavy assault, anti-vehicle, sniper, etc. and you can combine them with tools which include a selections of remote drones (either shoot or explode), airstrikes (precise, cluster, napalm), EMP (disable vehicles and stuff), etc.FatherJack wrote:What is it? Some shooty game with a bland, nondescriptive name? The video on their site won't even play.
General combat is good enough and being a BF veteran gives you an edge.
There's plenty of videos here if you want to take a look: http://www.gametrailers.com/game/2833.html
