I was wondering what happened at the end, I was rather drunk by that point and can only remember patches.
Cutting the time so short wasn't scripted - I had a tally of how long everyone was taking with everything and it genuinely got that close to the line, although I'll admit I did structure the thing so that it would be tight however it was done. You got lucky though - a few minutes earlier and you wouldn't have got the TV coverage, a couple of minutes later and you'd have got the fine for disrupting the show.
The BPN was written to see how people react when faced with a moral dilemma - go against orders and suffer the consequences, or put a very vulnerable innocent in danger. There wasn't a right way to do it. It also shows that you don't need combat to make a tense BPN.

Thing to note for anyone thinking of creating a character. It may be tempting to pimp out your character with top notch fighting skills, but for long, long periods of time you might not ending up using them. You'll need some other skills to flesh out your character. It also means that I don't have to do all the talking to important people . Seriously though, I do feel a bit guilty sometimes as it does feel like I get more opportunity to do stuff. Though naturally when we do get a combat intense BPN I'll probably have to take a back seat for fear of getting a whupping.
Also, question for Doggers: Although I can use my heal ability on other people, would I have to get some sort of paramedic skill in order to diagnose them in the first place, or can I just do it instinctively?
You don't even need to know what's wrong with them, you just let the Ebb do its stuff. It only works on injuries though (ie restoring lost hit points/wounds). It's not uncommon for Ebons to be squad medics as they're naturally inclined towards preservation rather than destruction, and so many do learn first aid and suchlike to compliment their Ebb healing.

This, Hard. The first time I played shadowrun, our whole team was a bit gun-happy. It wasn't till our DM pointed it out that we realised none of us had any negotiation skills, so we would be getting screwed over left right and center.
We then went a bit too far the other way, of course...
We verbally agreed over the phone to pay her 200 uni, but when she appeared (and started chucking her chicken bones around) we pointed her in the direction of the nearest group of Shivers and said they would reimburse her.
Only let down of that BPN is that we forgot to loot the empty apartments

not to mention the cat-like dude who shoots TVs and kicks people in the balls.
I've just stumbled on a metric shitload of material for SLA. It'll take me quite a while to process it, but I reckon I can probably create a GM and several player sourcebooks. I'll be updating the Wiki with stuff as I refine it.
I hope so. I've got a fine selection of BPNs, but if there's enough of you I've got a special one.
In other news, I'm collating all my source together into one PDF. I'll give it to you chaps once it's done. Currently I'm working on the new front cover.
Fridays are easier for me because Mrs Pants works on friday nights. She works every other saturday so I could run them on those nights id that's easier for people. It has to be friday or saturday though becasue of how late they run.
Saturday is also fine, I just scheduled friday because that's when we've traditionally played. I'd rather schedule it for maximum attandance though. When's best for everyone else?
